ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

NOVEMBER 1ST , 2005

TODAY'S THOUGHT

We tend to get what we expect.

Norman Vincent Peale

TODAY'S ACTION

Believe in the sun even when it's not shining

TODAY'S QUOTE

Face your deficiencies and acknowledge them;

but do not let them master you.

Let them teach you patience, sweetness, insight…

When we do the best we can,

we never know what miracle is wrought in our life,

or in the life of another

Helen Keller

HAPPY TUESDAY !

It was cloudy all day yesterday and I was afraid it would be raining for trick or treat, but the rain held off and we treated the tricksters.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS...NUTTY PECAN DAY

Now, why do people usually only eat pecans during the holidays? They are cholesterol and sodium free - and are also full of vitamins and minerals. Eating a handful every day is good for you

 PECAN PULL APARTS

1 pkg. frozen parker-house rolls (2 dozen)

1 small pkg. butterscotch pudding mix

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup melted margarine

3/4 cup pecans

candied cherries to decorate optional

1. Grease a bundt pan. Put the pecans and cherries in the bottom of the pan. Place frozen rolls over the pecans (don't defrost!). 2. Sprinkle the pudding mix and the brown sugar over the rolls. Drizzle the melted margarine over the top. Cover with waxed paper and a towel. Let stand overnight, or at least 8 hours. 3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 40 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes and then invert onto a serving platter

Sounds yummy !

TODAY'S SMILE

God, I wish You'd asked me

Before you started remodeling my temple.

I might have given You input

Or at least asked that You not make

So many changes So quickly.

I feel like a stranger here Stumbling in the dark.

It's just not familiar Any more.

Is there a blueprint somewhere

So I can grasp the new plan

And find my way around?

The problem is, Lord,

I'm still the same inside.

Still the same drive:

Work to do, Places to go, Songs to sing,

The same old me.

Only the framework has changed.

Parts of me won't cooperate any more,

And it's difficult, If not impossible

To do all those things.

 I would love it, Lord

If You would put things back the way they were.

I know that's not too hard for you.

But I trust You.

If they're not going to change,

Then help me, Lord,

To find my way around again.

Help me find the doors

In these new walls that seem impassable.

Show me where I can turn the corner

And find the joys of this new house.

Show me where the sunshine streams in

To brighten the dark interior,

And help me hear the songs

Echoing in these new hallways.

It's easier to think now that

I'll be glad You won't be leaving me here forever.

I'm looking forward to that perfect temple

You've got planned for me in eternity.

 In the meantime,

I trust you to show me the way

And help me abide contentedly in You

TODAY'S WORD

 antic • \AN-tik\ adjective

1 : characterized by clownish extravagance or absurdity

2 : whimsically gay : frolicsome

As the movie progresses, the characters become involved in a series of antic misadventures, each one funnier and more absurd than the last

TODAY'S REFLECTION

Love each other as brothers and sisters and honor others more than you do yourself

Romans 12:10

When we put someone else first, we often expect something back. We are disappointed, even angered when they do not respond as we would like.

An anonymous writer described real love that brings a joyful life:

Free your heart from hatred.

Free your mind from worry.

Live simply.

Give more. Expect less.

TODAY'S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC

Toss used lemons into your garbage disposal to help keep it clean and fresh-smelling

50 DAYS UNTIL WINTER

Sunrise 6:59 AM, set: 5:22 PM

Delight yourself in the Lord and

He will give you the desires of your Heart

Psalm 37:4

I Love You All !!!

Be Blessed !!!
