TODAY'S ACTION

Dear Lord, let us go forward with great hope that all things can be possible—with Your help and guidance

TODAY'S QUOTE

Now it is faith to believe that which you do not yet see; and the reward of faith is to see that which you believe.

St. Augustine

HAPPY MONDAY !

Sipping coffee this morning and trying real hard to wake up ! Back to work again ! My old body says it wants some daylight to wake up to!

It looks like an almost ordinary week ahead:

Monday – work

Tuesday – work

Wednesday – work and then out to visit a display at our Community College with my dulcimer buddies and then out to dinner.

Thursday – work

Friday – work

We’ll be lucky to see a 50 degree day here this week-rain all week until Saturday says the weather man ! We’ll just hope it’s only rain.

I’ll be keeping all those in Florida in my prayers today . May our dear Lord calm the storm, protect you all and keep you safe.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

I have so much to be thankful for,

God's gifts from Heaven above:

Yet most of all I thank

You For a life that's been filled with love

TODAY IS...BLACK CAT DAY

Cats of all colors were domesticated as pets around 3000 B.C. in Egypt. They were well loved and protected by law from mistreatment. But let's jump to Europe during the Middle Ages. Many old women fed stray cats in the streets. When superstitious people called these old women "hags" or "witches", they thought the cats (especially black cats) were their witchy companions. That's the only reason black cats were ever considered unlucky.

Silly superstition

TODAY'S SMILE

Families are like fudge .. Mostly sweet with a few nuts

An old man limped into the doctor's office and said, "Doctor, my knee hurts so bad, I can hardly walk!"

The doctor slowly eyed him from head to toe, paused and then said, "Sir, how old are you?" "I'm 98," the man announced proudly.

The doctor just sighed, and looked at him again. Finally he said, "Sir, I'm sorry. I mean, just look at you. You are almost one hundred years old, and you're complaining thatyour knee hurts? Well, what did you expect?"

The old man said, Well, my other knee is 98 years old too, and it doesn't hurt

You know you're getting old when you stoop to tie your shoes and wonder what else you can do while you're down there

TODAY'S REFLECTION

...being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ...

Philippians 1:6

When we don't obtain success, we feel that God isn’t answering our prayers.

Our scripture today reminds us of God's true goal for our life -- God is working on us rather than worldly goals God's purpose in our lives is a process, not an achievement.

Surely it is wise for us to set goals, for unless one sets a destination, one goes nowhere. It is not a tragedy if we don't reach our goal, for this is just an experience that builds our character.

The important thing is the knowledge that God loves us and will guide us through the storms (Hurricanes included)

Give me the faith,

Lord, to know that your goal

for me is greater than any goal I may have
