TODAY'S QUOTE

Ralph Waldo Emerson

HAPPY TUESDAY !

It’s supposed to be another dark and wet one here ! I heard from our ‘Sunshine’ babes yesterday around 11:00 am and the eye of the hurricane had just gone over and they had been out to look at the damage…some roof tiles missing and a broken water line to their irrigation system from falling debris. Hopefully the backside of the hurricane didn’t do any more damage than that.

Thank the good Lord for keeping them safe.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the way !

TODAY IS...TRICK OR TREAT DAY

Trick or-Treating started in 9th century European with a custom called "souling". On November 2, All Souls Day, people would walk from village to village begging for "soul cakes". These were square pieces of bread with currants. And for every soul cake the beggars got, they said a prayer for the dead relatives of the donors. Today, Trick or Treating is just for fun. And most children say their favorite Trick or Treat candy is either chocolate or gum

TODAY'S SMILE

Two men were walking home after a Halloween party and decided to take a shortcut through the cemetery just for laughs. Right in the middle of the cemetery they were startled by a tap-tap-tapping noise coming from the misty shadows. Trembling with fear, they found an old man with a hammer and chisel, chipping away at one of the headstones. "Holy cow, Mister," one of them said after catching his breath, "You scared us half to death -- we thought you were a ghost! What are you doing working here so late at night?" "Those fools!" the old man grumbled.

They misspelled my name

TODAY'S REFLECTION

For they refreshed my spirit and yours also

1 Corinthians 16:18

We all crave human companionship and sympathy. Here Paul recognizes—and asks that the church fellowship recognize—his friends who visited and encouraged him, and restored his faith in the church members, as well. We need to be with our like-minded Christian friends who are truly interested in our welfare and who understand the battles of mind and heart. Perhaps there is another message here: our faithful ministers need encouragement and the support of the church members, as well. They are human, too, and they need to know that their love and work is not in vain.
