HAPPY ‘FINALLLY’ FRIDAY !
I’m looking forward to a 3-day weekend as I have a vacation day on Monday. DD and I had planned to go to Amish Country, but due to an appointment she has, we’ll just do something around here so she’ll be back in time for that.
One of my friends sent me this beautiful link about ‘4 Candles’ that I thought you all would enjoy! Just click on the link below: http://i.euniverse.com/funpages/cms_content/2529/4candles.swf
I had the a/c on yesterday and will probably turn the heat on tonight as the temps are falling down to the 40’s . It’s hard to take these drastic changes in weather. At least it’s not s---!
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY IS...RIPE PUMPKIN DAY
Pumpkins are 90 percent water. They were once recommended for removing freckles and curing snake bites. We don't know if that works, but we DO know they are good to eat
PUMPKIN BREAD
(MAKES 3 LOAVES)
3 cups sugar, granulated
3 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose
1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
4 large eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
2 cups pumpkin (cooked)
2/3 cup water
1 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and butter 3 loaf pans. Sift the dry ingredients together into a large bowl. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the eggs, oil, pumpkin and water. Beat well with an electric mixer. Stir in the walnuts with a wooden spoon. Pour the batter into the loaf pans filling each half to two-thirds full. Bake for 60-90 minutes. The bread is done when a toothpick in the middle comes out clean. Cool about ten minutes, then loosen the edges of the bread with a knife and turn out to cool on a rack

According to the energy department, high gas prices may be around for the next six months. After that they’ll be followed by really high gas prices.
SUV stands for suddenly useless vehicle
Most people assume WWJD is for "What would Jesus do?". But the initials really have been changed to stand for "What would Jesus drive?".
One theory is that Jesus would tool around in an old Plymouth because the Bible says, "God drove Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden in a Fury". But in Psalm 83, the Almighty clearly owns a Pontiac and a Geo. The passage urges the Jesus to "pursue your enemies with your Tempest and terrify them with your Storm".
Perhaps God favors Dodge pickup trucks, because Moses' ollowers are warned not to go up a mountain "until the Ram's horn sounds a long blast".
Some scholars insist that Jesus drove a Honda but didn't like to talk about it. As proof, they cite a verse in St. John's gospel where Christ tells the crowd, "For I did not speak of my own Accord..."
Meanwhile, Moses rode an old British motorcycle, as evidenced by a Bible passage declaring that "the roar of Moses' Triumph is heard in the hills". Joshua drove a Triumph sports car with a hole in its muffler: "Joshua's Triumph was heard throughout the land". And, following Jesus' lead, the Apostles car pooled in a Honda... The Apostles were in one Accord

TODAY'S REFLECTION
Your teachings are wonderful, and I respect them all. Understanding your word brings light to the minds of ordinary people
Psalm 119:129-130
The exciting thing about God's Word is that it is valid, no matter whether read today or a thousand years ago. Times may change. Customs may change. But human nature remains the same
A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education
