HAPPY ‘THANKFULLY’ THURSDAY !

Lots to be thankful for this week. The least of which, is the beautiful weather we’ve been having. As so often happens, I’ve had to work all the days, but it’s been a nice ride in and back. The weatherman says the front has slowed down and now today will be another nice one. Tonite and Friday it will rain and cool down in the 50’s. Out in Montana and North Dakota they are having S---! We’re very thankful that we don’t live there.

Thankful too, that the latest tropical storm down by Florida won’t be a hurricane. I’m praying that those already hit so hard, will experience only good weather so they can recover from Katrina etc., and that my grand’babes’ down south can return home to be with their parents.

Take good care all !

And Have a great day ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

 TODAY IS...BAKE BISCUITS DAY

Celebrate Biscuit Day by throwing together a real old-fashioned, downhome recipe like everybody's grandmother used to make (at least in the movies)!

Y'ALL COME BACK NOW BISCUITS

2 cups all purpose flour

 1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/3 cup soild vegetable shortening

3/4 cup milk or buttermilk

Combine the dry ingredients then cut in the shortning with the back of a fork until crumbly. Add the milk or buttermilk and stir until you have a soft dough. Throw out onto a piece of floured waxpaper and kneed 4 or 5 times (just kneed in more flour if the dough istoo sticky). Roll out dough about 1/2 inch thick. Dip a glass in flour and cut circles for biscuits. Place your biscuits 1 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 400F for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown

TODAY'S SMILE

A dog had followed his owner to school. His owner was a fourth grader at a public elementary school. However, when the bell rang, the dog sidled inside the building and made it all the way to the child's classroom before a teacher noticed and shoo'ed him outside, closing the door behind him. The dog sat down, whimpered and stared at the closed doors. Then God appeared beside the dog, patted his head, and said, "Don't feel bad fella'. . . . . .they won't let ME in either

TODAY'S REFLECTION

O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; you understand my thought afar-off

Psalm 139:1-2

Those of us who live where we see the lovely crimson and gold of the autumn leaves at this time of year are reminded of the faithfulness of our Creator. His love is as steady and faithful as the seasons of the year. Jesus in his life on earth showed us what God is like.

Jesus loved everyone and he wasn't interested in how important a person was, but whether or not he could help that person. God walks with you and takes notice of all that you do. You need never feel unimportant again
