 HAPPY WEDNESDAY !

 OVER THE HUMP DAY !

Brrr it’s been chilly and wet here…low 40’s/high 30’s again last night and windy!

This evening our community college has a display of our local churches’ artifacts and my dulcimer buddies and I are going to go take a look and then go out to eat.

Isn’t it funny how our local history and our national history is founded in religious beliefs, but a few unbelievers are making so much trouble about religion ???

I’ll let you know tomorrow what we had good for dinner !

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS...JACK-0-LANTERN DAY!

The Jack-o-lantern custom comes from Irish folklore. The story tells of a man named Jack who carried an ember in a hollowed out turnip to light hisway. So, early Jack-o-lanterns were all made out of turnips. When the Irish came to America, they found that pumpkins were far more plentiful than turnips - and easier to carve. Before flashlights were invented, carved pumpkins with candles inside became part of the Halloween tradition

TODAY'S SMILE

A minister told his congregation, "Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17."

The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17. Every hand went up.

The minister smiled and said, Mark has only 16 chapters.

I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying

TODAY'S REFLECTION

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard

Romans 10:14

An article in the New York Times recently stated that there were more than 5,000 different languages and dialects in the world. Can you imagine trying to translate the Bible into that many languages

Through the years there have been thousands of missionaries who have traveled over the world, reaching out to those who have never heard the Good News We may never be called on for such sacrifice, but each of us can be a missionary, wherever we are
