HAPPY ‘SUPER’ SATURDAY !

House Blessing Day ! My house is in bad need of a blessing – it’s been ignored for a couple of weeks now.

Please remember to keep all those in peril from hurricane Wilma in your prayers this weekend. I’m praying it slows down and dissipates.

The hurricane season doesn’t end til November 30th and I’m sure everyone has had enough of them already!

It looks like a wet weekend here, good weather for staying in and getting things done.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way!

TODAY IS...EAT A PRETZEL DAY !

The origin of the Pretzel can be traced to about 610 A.D. in one of the monasteries of Southern France or Northern Italy. An imaginative monk wanted to use the dough left over after baking bread, so he made strips and formed them to represent children's arms folded in prayer. He called each one a "Pretiola" - the Latin word for little reward. Today over 300 million pounds of Pretzels and Pretzel Products are produced every year.

Here’s a link to lots of pretzel recipes

TODAY'S SMILE

A two and a half year old walked into the bathroom while her mother was putting on make-up. "I'm going to look just like you mommy!" she announced. "Maybe, when you grow up," her mother told her.

No mommy, tomorrow. I just put on that 'Oil of Old Lady' you always use

One more…

After years of using the same perfumes, I decided to try something different and settled on a light, citrusy fragrance.

The next day I was surprised when it was my little boy, not my husband, who first noticed the change.

As he put his arms around me, he declared, Wow, Mom, you smell just like Froot Loops

TODAY'S REFLECTION

Jesus Wept!

 John 11:35

Trivia fans will recognize the above verse as the shortest verse in the Bible. These two little words tell us so very much about our Savior. We see Jesus in a moment of deep emotions. Jesus did not consider it unmanly to express his true feelings. This is a time when a close friend of his had died.

Jesus felt true grief. He did not "keep a stiff upper lip." Jesus openly wept. He cried real tears in the presence of others. Jesus was capable of sadness. He expressed true grief. Sorrow and grief are then an expected part of life. It is not unchristian, or un-spiritual to cry. It is alright to feel sadness and grief, especially at the loss of someone we love.

A Christian does not have to cover up inward pain and grief with a sunny smile. Ecclesiastes 3:1, 4 says, "There is a right time for everything ... A time to cry; A time to laugh; A time to grieve; A time to laugh." Jesus recognized a time to weep. He is our example. We need not feel embarrassed to let the tears flow.
