TODAY'S QUOTE

With God, even when nothing is happening - something is happening

Rev. Reubin Welch

HAPPY ‘SUPER’ SATURDAY !

Much cooler this morning, but it's supposed to be clearing up later in the day !  I 'll be doing the weekly 'house blessing' today and trying to catch up on a few things...otherwise it seems to be a quiet weekend.

I did talk to my 'Sunshine' boys on the phone last night.  It's always a treat to hear the giggles and laughs ...my house has been soooo quiet since they went home.

Have a great day all !  Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS...WALLPAPER DAY

Since the Chinese invented papermaking, people think they also invented wallpaper. Wrong! Wallpaper was invented in France during the late 15th century. It was intended to be a cheap substitute for fancy woven tapestries, but it soon became very popular. When the paper mills started running across Europe, wallpaper could have stenciled, hand-painted or printed designs

TODAY'S SMILE

Smooth Operator

My teenager was headed to school one morning when I told him that the neck tag on his shirt was hanging out. "I know," he replied. "It's a fad me and some of the guys started."

Weeks later, as the style persisted, I commented, "I can't stand it! Every time I see that, I want to fix it for you." I gently tucked the tag in place and rumpled his hair. "Yeah," he said smiling slyly. All the girls do too

One more…

With the holidays approaching, it is important to keep in shape. Perhaps your New Year's Resolution will be to do more exercise. With that in mind here is a little exercise you can do ... no dieting, just a little exercise. Remember, physical exercise is good for you. This easy daily program can be done by most people. I can do it. You can do it, too. The program can be used without charge.

Once you have completed the program you will be saying "Whew! What a work out!" I have been doing these exercises for awhile so my workout is a bit faster than those of you just starting out. Don't worry. You might want to take it easy at first and the do it faster as you become more proficient. It may be too strenuous for some, so always consult your doctor before starting this or any exercise program.

TODAY'S WORD

Venal

Pronunciation: /VEE-nul/

adj : capable of or characterized by bribery or corruption

TODAY'S REFLECTION

But all this time God has helped me, and I have preached both to the rich and to the poor.

Acts 26:22

Paul remembered all the times God had come to his aid. Can you remember times when you have been anxious or afraid, and God has been there for you You may not realize it, but God is eager to help you, if you only ask Too often we pray, not asking, but we tell God what we want and expect it to be given to us according to our wishes.

God knows what we need and in his own time he answers our prayers with what is best for us It is important that we study the life of Christ, in order to know intimately the God we worship.

Little children trust their parents' decisions because they know them so well that they are sure of their caring love. God wants all his children to trust him and obey

TODAY'S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC

October's flower, the daisylike marigold (Tagetes), has been called "Mary's gold" and "bride of the sun." Its yellow, rust, and gold colors echo fall's natural hues. The malodorous annual is useful in borders to repel pests. For the same reason, you may choose to omit it from your bouquets, unless you have one of the odorless marigold varieties. Marigolds were once a source for toothache remedies. Today their cousin, calendula, is used in skin creams.

A dream of marigolds indicates happiness in marriage, prosperity, and success.
