TODAY’S QUOTE

Politeness and consideration for others is like investing pennies and getting dollars back.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY

It was a very quiet Trick or Treat night at my house last night. My next door neighbor sister and her neighbor and I sat on the porch and enjoyed what few we had…only about 35 tricksters. I had 103 pieces of candy.

DN#3 and his fiancé also stopped by with the pumpkin they had carved . So the 5 of us sat on the porch and we ate a few pieces of that good candy too!

With a new month, I also have a new purse, so make sure you check out my journal page to see what it looks like. Only one more month of purses and then it’ll be time to stop…I’ve got quite a selection now. Next year it’ll have to be something else, not sure what yet.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY IS…PECAN DAY

Now, why do people usually only eat pecans during the holidays? The are cholesterol and sodium free - and are also full of vitamines and minerals. Eating a handful every day is good for you, but don't forget to try out special pecan recipes, too!

PECAN PULL APARTS

1 pkg. frozen parker-house rolls (2 dozen)

1 small pkg. butterscotch pudding mix

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup melted margarine

3/4 cup pecans candied cherries to decorate (optional)

1. Grease a bundt pan. Put the pecans and cherries in the bottom of the pan. Place frozen rolls over the pecans (don't defrost!). 2. Sprinkle the pudding mix and the brown sugar over the rolls. Drizzle the melted margarine over the top. Cover with waxed paper and a towel. Let stand overnight, or at least 8 hours. 3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 40 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes and then invert onto a serving platter.

TODAY’S SMILE

Overheard at a Computer Store:

"I want a game capable of holding the interest of my six-year-old, but it's got to be simple enough so that his father can play it, too."

ONE MORE…

 Not Enough Water

A man goes to the doctor and reports that he hasn't been feeling well. The doctor examines him, leaves the room and comes back with three different bottles of pills.

"Take the green pill with a big glass of water when you get up," the doctor says. "Take the blue pill with a big glass of water after lunch. Then, just before going to bed, take the red pill with another big glass of water."

Startled to be put on so much medicine the man stammers, "My goodness, Doc, exactly what's my problem?"

Says the doctor, "You're not drinking enough water

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Why are you so worried about having no food? Won't you ever learn or understand? Are your hearts too hard to take it in? 'You have eyes -- can't you see? You have ears -- can't you hear?' Don't you remember anything at all?

Mark 8:13-18 NLT Ed. 1

A grandmother recently shared this story to illustrate the hearing and understanding problem.

Our five year old grandson couldn't wait to tell his grandfather about the movie we had watched on television, "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea." The scenes with the submarine and the giant octopus had kept him wide eyed.

In the middle of the telling, my husband interrupted him and asks, "What caused the submarine to sink?"

With a look of disbelief, he replied, "Grandpa, it was the 20,000 leaks!"

Could it be that we all, on occasion, have hearing problems, or at least understanding problems?
