HAPPY FINALLY FRIDAY

Wednesday and Thursday were dark and dreary. I think today is supposed to be more of the same. I’d better get used to it because that’s what we’ve got to look forward to! Whenever the sun does make a rare appearance I’ll just have to soak up as much of those rays that I can !

I heard from DDIL #4 and her Dad’s surgery was successful and now he’ll be spending a couple of weeks with rehabilitation. I’ll be praying for his quick recovery.

Take good care all !

Have a great day ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS...ADOPT A DOG DAY

There's nothing like a little, squirmy puppy, but older dogs make gets pets, too. You can save a life by adopting a shelter dog - and get a loyal friend in return. The ASPCA can help you online

TODAY'S TRIVIA

Today is National Change Your Oil Day.

Today is Apple Butter Appreciation Day.

1811 - Fulton’s steamboat, New Orleans, built in Pittsburgh, sailed down the Ohio and Mississippi rivers to New Orleans. It was the first steamboat in western waters. Passage on the New Orleans was $30

1873 - A Hippodrome was opened in New York City by showman Phineus T. (P.T.) Barnum. The impressive place was the new home of The Greatest Show on Earth; the big top of what would be the greatest circus in the land

1955 - “Day-O. Day-ay-ay-ay-o!” One of the most popular of the Harry Belafonte hits was recorded -- for RCA Victor. Day-O didn’t make it to the pop charts for over a year (January 1957), however, after its name had been changed to The Banana Boat Song (Day-O).

1962 - With Halloween just around the corner, we remember that Bobby “Boris” Picket and the Crypt Kickers reached the top of the charts this day (for two weeks) with The Monster Mash. And someone, somewhere, has resurrected it every Halloween since.

1979 John F Kennedy Library dedicated in Boston

1989: Smith Dairy at Orrville, Ohio, made history’s largest milk shake: 1,575.2 gallons.

TODAY'S SMILE

I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones.

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it

What if we flipped through it several times a day

What if we used it to receive messages from the text

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it

What if we gave it to kids as gifts

What if we used it as we traveled

What if we used it in case of an emergency

I was thinking on my way home, got touched by the spirit, so I wrote this so you can hear it. Its just something to think about Something to make you say hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, and where is my Bible?

TODAY'S REFLECTION

He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise.

Proverbs 15:31

One of the things in life that is difficult to handle is criticism, especially when one feels it is undeserved. Unfortunately people are quick to tell us something they don't like about us, but when they could give us a compliment, they say nothing

When you go to God in prayer, instead of letting anger take over, he will help you handle criticism in a positive way rather than allowing it to destroy you. And you should think and pray before you criticize someone else. Are you helping them or hindering them?
