ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

0CTOBER 10TH,2006

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go.

William Feather

TODAY’S ACTION

Look for ways around your limitations.

TODAY’S QUOTE

Since changes are going on anyway, the great thing is to learn enough about them so that we will be able to lay hold of them and turn them in the direction of our desires. Conditions and events are neither to be fled from nor passively acquiesced in; they are to be utilized and directed.

John Dewey

HAPPY TUESDAY

Back to work for me today ! I hope your Monday was a great one ! Mine sure was !!! Now I’m refreshed and ready for another work week. As far as I can see there is nothing but work on my calendar for the week until Saturday. The campers are celebrating ‘Trick or Treat’ at the campground and I’ll be joining them if weather permits.

Right now the long range forecast for Saturday is partly cloudy and in the mid 50’s. That doesn’t sound too bad.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS…WILDLIFE DAY

Today we celebrate wildlife conservation. It's our responsibility to preserve wildlife and their habitats - even if it's in our own backyard. Buy some birdseed to help our feathered friends make it through the winter. And find out more about wildlife and the environment here:

TODAY’S SMILE

Mr. Smith was flying from San Francisco to LA. Unexpectedly the plane stopped in Sacramento along the way. The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft, the plane would re-board in 30 minutes.

Everybody got off the plane except one gentleman who was blind. Mr. Smith had noticed him as he walked by and could tell the blind man had flown before because his Seeing Eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of him throughout the entire flight.

The pilot approached the blind man, and calling him by name, said "Keith, we're in Sacramento for almost an hour. Would you like to get off and stretch your legs?"

Keith replied, "No thanks, but maybe the dog would like to stretch his legs".

Now, picture this: All the people in the gate area came to a complete quiet standstill when they look up and see the pilot walk off the plane with the Seeing Eye dog!

The pilot was even wearing sunglasses. People scattered. They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change airlines!

Have a great day and remember things aren't always as they appear.

TODAY’S WORD

temporize Pronunciation: /TEM-puh-rize/ v : to evade an action or give temporary compliance to so as to gain time

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

Matthew 28:19-20

Certain historians tell us that Columbus was deeply religious and believed that one of his missions was to bring Christianity to the New World. Columbus had a dream and overcame many obstacles in order to accomplish it. But he did not give up! Christianity did indeed reach the New World. Columbus was part of God's plan.

We can be ambassadors for Christ, wherever we are. Others are aware of what we do and say, so it is very important that we exhibit the love of Christ in all our actions. When we do that, God strengthens and guides us to a peaceful and successful life.

We may encounter obstacles, but each time we overcome an obstacle, we are stronger and more able to live an abundant life.
