TODAY’S QUOTE

Happiness often sneaks in through a door you didn't know you left open.

John Barrymore

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Finally, the week has once again come to an end. It’s been a very busy one at work. I guess that made the time go by faster. I have Monday off for a vacation day, but I really don’t have any special plans, maybe a little fall cleaning, or maybe a craft project??? Or maybe I’ll just be lazy and enjoy a day off ! Anyway it’s nice to think about a 3-day weekend.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior

 GOD BLESS YOU !

TODAY IS…BAKE BISCUITS DAY Celebrate Biscuit Day by throwing together a real old-fashioned, downhome recipe like everybody's grandmother used to make (at least in the movies)!

Y'ALL COME BACK NOW BISCUITS

2 cups all purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/3 cup soild vegetable shortning

3/4 cup milk or buttermilk

Combine the dry ingredients then cut in the shortning with the back of a fork until crumbly. Add the milk or buttermilk and stir until you have a soft dough. Throw out onto a piece of floured waxpaper and kneed 4 or 5 times (just kneed in more flour if the dough istoo sticky). Roll out dough about 1/2 inch thick. Dip a glass in flour and cut circles for biscuits. Place your biscuits 1 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 400F for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown.

TODAY’S SMILE

A boy, frustrated with all the rules he had to follow, asked his father, "Dad, how soon will I be old enough to do as I please?"

The father answered immediately, "I don't know. Nobody has lived that long yet."

 TODAY’S WORD

progenitor (noun)

[proe-JEN-i-tahr]

1. an ancestor in the direct line 2. a predecessor of something; 'ARPANET was the progenitor of the Internet.': "I never would have guessed that my stripped down little sports utility vehicle was going to be the progenitor of a new breed of bloated street yachts." 3. someone who originates or founds something; a founder; 'progenitors of the new music'

TODAY’S REFLECTION

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers – the moon and the stars that you have set in place – what are mortals that you should think of us, and mere humans that you should care for us?

 Psalm 8:3-4

Worshiping God involves counting on him as your friend. The Old Testament portrays God as a friend to Moses, Abraham, and David, often sparring with them in debate over his rule of the nation of Israel

To worship God is to carry on a conversation with him – to talk with him, share our hopes and dreams and fears with him, and even our displeasure or impatience with the way things are going. He wants our honesty.

God is still God and though he is our friend, we worship him as God and marvel that he would befriend us. And yet he does!

And that is the greatest wonder of all
