ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

0CTOBER 29TH, 2006

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside them was superior to circumstance.

Bruce Barton

TODAY’S ACTION

Believe in what you can become.

TODAY’S QUOTE

The greatest motivational act one person can do for another is to listen.

Roy E. Moody

HAPPY SUNDAY

Yesterday we had the high winds and thunderstorms and in the rain coming down, there were a few snowflakes too!  My weather alarm radio even went off with a warning.

Today is supposed to be a little calmer weather wise and I'm hoping it'll be nice enough to even get out for an afternoon walk.  I do miss the walks and need the exercise.  House work is supposed to be the equivalent of walking, if you do enough of it and I suppose going up and down all the flights of stairs that I have does count for something, but it's just not the same.

I'll be off to church shortly for my weekly dose of R&R and I hope you all are able to bless your spirit is some way today too. The good Lord knows we all need it.

Have a great day !  Another wonderful one on the Way  !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold ourtroops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

God Bless YOU !

TODAY IS…DRACULA DAY

The 1931 version of Dracula was the first classic horror film made by Universal Pictures. It was based on Bram Stoker's 1897 novel. The popular vampire story had been made as a silent movie in the 1920s and was also a hit Broadway play. Hungarian stage actor Bela Lugosi starred in the smash-hit theater production and was signed to make the movie. He quickly became the definitive screen vampire, and Dracula was his most famous role. Universal's next picture was the successful movie Frankenstein.

TODAY’S SMILE

One day, a little girl is sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly notices that her mother has several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head.

She looks at her mother and inquisitively asks, "Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?"

Her mother replied, "Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white."

The little girl thought about this revelation for a while, and then said, "So, Momma, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?"

One should take children's philosophy to heart. They never despise a bubble because it burst; they immediately set to work to blow another one

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Psalm 106:1

Do you want your life to be filled with joy? Do you want to chase away doubt, fear and anxiety? Then fill your thoughts with praise and thanks to the Lord. You will be surprised at the results.

When you praise and thank God in all circumstances, he will strengthen you and give you peace and joy.
