TODAY'S THOUGHT

Remember, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday

Dale Carnegie

TODAY’S ACTION

Learn to find comfort in the fact that life is unpredictable.

TODAY’S QUOTE

The leaves lay like hands upon the ground. When the wind rustles them, they applaud softly.

HAPPY SATURDAY

Yesterday we had sun and it was very windy -- gusts up to 40 mph all day long. Today is supposed to be a little warmer (mid 50’s) with more sun and a little more wind.

Leaves were blowing all over the place, along with anything else the wind could carry. Any cobwebs that I may have had in this old brain of mine should be cleared out.

Today I’m off along with one of my dulcimer buddies and my deviled eggs to visit the campers. Only DS#1 and family will be there so we’ll be having a smaller ‘trick or treat’ celebration than usual.

It seems harder and harder to have family get togethers. Everyone is spread out all over and have many of their own things going on. I think I will have the most of them together (not all) at Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. That is something to be thankful for !

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS…HONEY BEE DAY

In honor of 211,600 beekeepers and 2.63 million colonies of honeybees (yes, we're guessing at those numbers). But, no matter how many there might be, they produce more than 220 million pounds of honey every single year!

More than enough for your cup of tea.

TODAY’S TRIVIA

Today is National Dessert Day.

1644: The birthday of William Penn, the English Quaker who founded Pennsylvania

1926.The classic A.A. Milne book, Winnie-the-Pooh, made its debut . Alan Alexander Milne wrote this and other delightful Winnie-the-Pooh stories, centering the tales around his little son, Christopher Robin, and Christopher’s stuffed animals, like the honey-loving Pooh Bear, Eeyore (the donkey), Piglet and Tigger, too. The other A.A. Milne Pooh books were The House at Pooh Corner, When We were Very Young and Now We are Six.

1964: Civil rights leader Martin Luther King Junior was named winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.

TODAY’S SMILE

An Angel

By: Author Unknown

An Angel wrote:

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.

To handle yourself, use your head; To handle others, use your heart.

Anger is only one letter short of danger. If someone betrays you once, it's his fault; if he betrays you twice, it's your fault.

Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people.

God gives every bird it's food, but He doesnot throw it into it's nest.

He who loses money, loses much; He who loses a friend, loses more; He who loses faith, loses all.

Beautiful young people are acts of nature, but beautiful old people are works of art.

Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself.

The tongue weighs practically nothing, but so few people can hold it.

TODAY’S WORD

prodigious

Pronunciation: /pro-DIJ-us/ adj :

 huge, enormous, wonderful

We must do what we can to help save the rare and prodigious whale

TODAY’S REFLECTION

I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

John 13:15

Jesus had just made a servant of himself by washing the disciples' feet. Our scripture today is what he said next. If our Lord and Savior set the example of serving others, should we not do the same?

Do more than exist. Live!

Do more than hear. Listen!

Do more than agree. Cooperate!

Do more than talk. Communicate!

Do more than work. Excel!

Do more than share. Give!

Do more than consider. Commit!

Do more than forgive. Forget!

Do more than encourage. Inspire!

Do more than help. Serve!

Do more than receive. Reciprocate!

Do more than change. Improve!

Do more than grow. Bloom!

Do more than advise. Help!

Do more than dream. Do!
