HAPPY SUNDAY
Today is Palm Sunday and pretty soon I’ll be getting ready and going off to Church. It’s supposed to rain a little and then hopefully the sun will come out again. They are saying that by Wednesday our temps will start to drop and by Thursday we could have snow showers.
Springtime is here and we know there will be many sunny days to come.

TODAY IS…APRIL FOOLS DAY
Why is there an April Fool's Day? In 16th century France, New Year's was celebrated from March 25 to April 1. King Charles IX adopted the Gregorian calendar in 1582 - and suddenly the new year began Jan 1. Many people refused to switch or simply forgot the new date. They were called "April Fish", and their celebrations turned into silly pranks. This "fooling" eventually became a holiday of it's own.
It later became a custom in England - and the English brought it to the U.S. Some people believe this day of fooling is also a tribute to Mother Nature's ability to play tricks on us. Though the calendar tells us it's spring, snow storms sometimes sneak up on us in April and late March, when we've stopped expecting them.

There is a story told about a seagull's first flight. Safe in the cliff, high over the sea, he refused to fly. His brothers and sisters had made the jump and were enjoying life. He'd take a little run to the edge of the nest, look down on the sea miles below, flap his wings and retire in fear.
The mother teased the young seagull out of the nest with hunger. She kept dangling pieces of fish in front of him until one day he jumped. With a loud scream he fell downwards into space. His mother swooped near him. He heard the swish of her wings. He was in terror but only for a moment.
Suddenly his wings spread out. The wind rushed against his breast feathers, under his stomach and against his wings. He wasn't falling now but soaring with delight.

Full Pink Moon - April
This name came from the herb moss pink, or wild ground phlox, which is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring.
