Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY IS… JOHNNY APPLESEED DAY
Yes, there really was a Johnny Appleseed. Hisreal name was John Chapman - born in Massachusetts in 1774. But he didn't just walk around the country sprinkling apple seeds all over the place. He was a serious nurseryman who set out orchards in the widerness of the MidWest. He then gave or sold trees to the pioneers moving West who depended on apples as a staple in their diets.

TODAY’S SMILE
A friend once complained to my sister about the difficulties contained in child rearing, especially the lack of peace and quite rest. "What you need is a playpen to separate the kids from yourself," my sister suggested.
So my sister's friend bought a playpen. A few days later, my sister called to ask how things were going. "Superb! I can't believe it," she replied. "I get in the pen with a good book and the kids don't bother me one bit!"
Are circumstances or persons in your life causing you to wish for an escape? Are you finding it difficult to maintain strength and respond with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22)?
I'm grateful to rest in the peace and strength that God provides when I'm willing to stop trying to resolve issues myself, allowing God's strength to work in and through me, resulting in His character and likeness being revealed.
The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.
Psalm 29:11

TODAY’S REFLECTION
This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. -- As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.
Mark 4:26-27 & 29 A farmer plants the seed, but only God can cause it to grow into that beautiful harvest field, ready for the farmer to reap the crop.
I believe that Jesus told this story to remind us that God is all-powerful, that he loves us and will help us grow in his image, and that he will take his own time in doing this.
