FOR THURSDAY, MARCH 29TH, 2007

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

MARCH 29th, 2007

TODAY'S THOUGHT

See how nature--trees, flowers, grass--grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence. . . . We need silence to be able to touch souls.

Mother Teresa

TODAY’S ACTION

Appreciate the singing sparrow, the cool breeze, the pink sunset...

TODAY’S QUOTE

Among those whom I like or admire, I can find no common denominator, but among those whom I love, I can: all of them make me laugh..

W. H. Auden

HAPPY THURSDAY

It was much cooler here on Wednesday. The sun managed to peep through for a few short moments, but not long enough to warm it up. Today it should reach 55 and be sunny they say. We’ll see…

Work was ok for the first day back and after today there is only one more day of the work week left. I love short work weeks..

Please join me in saying a little prayer for DDIL#6’s mom as she has surgery tomorrow.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

And…Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY’S SMILE

With tears in his eyes, nine-year old Tommy stuck his lower lip out as far as he could. He had begged his mother to let him buy a model airplane with his allowance money, but she wouldn't consider it.

Three weeks later he understood why. It happened at his tenth birthday party. As he opened his first gift his eyes lit up. The box held a remote-controlled airplane. "Wow, thanks, Mom!" he said.

Suddenly he was very glad that he had not wasted his money on an airplane that wouldn't even fly.

Sometimes the same thing happens with our heavenly Father. Often when God says "no" to our request it is because God has something better prepared for us. We may not understand God's answer, but if we obediently follow God's commands, we can trust that God will always provide what is best for us.

Trust God and look for surprises!

TODAY’S REFLECTION

I am the vine, you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. -- This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

John 15:5 & 8

Jesus is explaining how to have a fruitful life. God created us and when we stay connected to God through his Son, we can live fruitful lives. When we cut ourselves off from our Creator, we are separating ourselves from God's grace.

All you have to do is love him and learn to use the lessons he teaches. You do this by reading God's Word each day and talking with the Lord each day through prayer, remembering that when you talk with someone, you also listen.
