TODAY'S THOUGHT

Problems are to the mind what exercise is to the muscles, they toughen and make strong.

Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

TODAY’S ACTION

TODAY’S QUOTE

St. Patrick's Day is an enchanted time -- a day to begin transforming winter's dreams into summer's magic.

Adrienne Cook

HAPPY SATURDAY

HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY TO YOU ALL

More Snow and wind for us. Spring certainly didn’t come early here. As you may have noticed there is only 3 more days til Spring officially arrives and guess what…we still have Winter !

I’m off to spend the day with my Dad and hopefully it won’t be much longer that I can go back to just a Saturday evening visit with him. He seems to be improving each week.

It’s not that I don’t want to spend the time with him, it’s just that I hope he gets better.

I’m hoping the longer daylight hours and sunshine will do me some good too ! I think winter just wears me out.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…ST. PATRICKS DAY

Wear something green so you don't get pinched (a tradition started by U.S. school kids), and...

Have a HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

About St. Patrick

Facts and legend are hard to separate, but he definitely wasn't Irish!

He was born around 373 in Banwen, Wales

His real name was Maewyn Succat (renamed Patrick when he became a priest)

He was kidnapped by pirates when he was 16 and sold as a slave in Ireland

He worked as a shepherd for the 6 years he was a slave He escaped, went to France and became a priest

He went back to Ireland to spread Christianity when he was about 60 years old

Saint Patrick's Day has come to be associated with everything Irish: anything green and gold, shamrocks and luck. Most importantly, to those who celebrate its intended meaning, St. Patrick's Day is a traditional day for spiritual renewal and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide.

TODAY’S IRISH TRIVIA

Designated Driver St. Patrick's Day Campaign - When you go out partying today, make sure to have a friend who will be the designated driver and not drink. Drive safely.

Nearly 44 million Americans claim some Irish ancestry, making Irish the second largest ethnic group in the U.S.

Did you know that only four percent of Irish people have red hair?

Did you know that wearing green on St. Patrick's Day is not an Irish custom and the national symbol of Ireland is not the shamrock -- it's the Celtic harp.

Ireland has a rich tradition of great writers including Nobel Prize winner W.B. Yeats and famous literary greats James Joyce and Jonathan Swift.

Waterford Crystal, located in Ireland, designed and created the crystal ball seen annually in New York City's Times Square to celebrate New Year's Eve

Ireland has more dogs per capita than any other European country.

According to census data provided by the Northern Ohio Data and Information Services, there are over 72,000 people of Irish descent in the Greater Cleveland area

TODAY’S SMILE

A Few Irish Jokes

Some time ago there happened to be an Irishman looking for work. He was not qualified to do anything much so he couldn't be choosy. He went to see a guy how ran a big business painting the lines on the roads of England. T

he man hired the Irishman and asked him to start the very next day. The next morning the Irishman arrived on time and was very enthusiastic. The owner of the business handed Irish a brush and pot of paint.

That day the Irishman, keen to impress, had over a mile of the road painted. The foreman was indeed delighted with his new employee. The next day the Irishman arrived and worked all day but was only able to complete a half mile.

Nothing was said, but it didn't go unnoticed. The next day came and unfortunately the Irishman didn't even get 100 yards completed. The boss was very annoyed about this dramatic loss of performance and called the Irishman into the site office.

The boss was not pleased and questioned why the Irishman was taking so long to do short distances when he began so well.... "Ah that's easy" Irish replied "The paint tin is getting further and further away from me while I work !"

Obituary

Shamus opened the morning newspaper and was dumbfounded to read in the obituary column that he had died. He quickly phoned his best friend Mick.

"Did you see the paper?" asked Shamus. "They say I died!!"

"Yes, I saw it!" replied Mick. "Where are you callin' from?"

IT EVENS OUT

One Irishman was explaining to the other how the Lord often compensates for a person's natural deficiencies. "You see," he said, "If someone is a bit blind he might have a very good sense of hearing, or if his sense of taste has gone, he may have a keen sense of smell."

"I agree with you," said the other. "I've always noticed that if someone has one short leg, the other one is always just that little bit longer."

TODAY’S WORD

Something as beautiful as Ireland SHOULD last forever!!

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat,or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.

Luke 12:22-23

Jesus was trying to teach us not to fret. He said that the ravens did not sow or reap, yet God fed them. He said that the lilies do not work or spin, yet even Solomon was not clothed as beautifully as they

Though it is wise to prepare for the future, Jesus is saying that when you put the Lord first in your life, you can truly enjoy every day without worrying about the future.
