HAPPY SATURDAY
I spent the night at DS#1's and this morning we'll be off on the long drive. By evening we'll be seeing the Sunshine Babes.
I was very tired last night by the time I got here and got a good night's rest.
I'll post an entry when I have an opportunity.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
25 WORDS
God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name
TODAY IS…Harry Houdini Day
Houdini is the most famous magician in history. He was born Erik Weisz on March 24, 1874, in Budapest, Hungary - and 4 years old when his family emigrated to America. His worldwide fame came from making amazing escapes. Early routines included getting out of straitjackets and handcuffs. He eventually performed an act where he was shackled with irons, placed in a box that was locked, roped, and weighted - and then submerged under water. Abracadabra!
TODAY’S TRIVIA
Today is National Chocolate Covered Raisins Day. It greatly reduces "chocolate guilt" if you hide some fruit inside, so this must be the reason they invented chocolate covered raisins. Now... if we can just figure out why they came up with chocolate covered ants! Maybe to add protein?
1820: Frances Crosby was born in Putnam County, New York. Blinded by illness at age six weeks, "Fannie" grew up to teach English and history for 35 years and to write 9,000 poems and songs. Some of her biggest hits included "To God Be the Glory," "Pass Me Not, O Gentle Savior," "Jesus Is Tenderly Calling," "All the Way My Savior Leads Me," "Rescue the Perishing," "Blessed Assurance," "I Am Thine, O Lord," and "Tell Me the Story of Jesus."
1898: Alexander Winton sold his first automobile, built in Cleveland, to mining engineer Robert Allison for $1,000. It was the first car built and sold in the U.S. 1958: At age 23, Elvis Presley was inducted into the U.S. Army in Memphis. The next day at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, barber James Peterson sheared off the King’s famous ducktails as Elvis groaned, "Hair today, gone tomorrow."
TODAY’S SMILE
There are two days in every week about which we should not worry, two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension.
One of these days is Yesterday with all its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains. Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back Yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed; we cannot erase a single word we said. Yesterday is gone forever.
The other day we should not worry about is Tomorrow with all its possible adversities, its burdens, its large promise and its poor performance;
Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control. Tomorrow's sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds, but it will rise. Until it does, we have no stake in Tomorrow, for it is yet to be born.
This leaves only one day, Today. Any person can fight the battle of just one day. It is when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities Yesterday and Tomorrow that we break down.
It is not the experience of Today that drives a person mad, it is the remorse or bitterness of something which happened Yesterday and the dread of what Tomorrow may bring.
Let us, therefore, Live but one day at a time.

TODAY’S REFLECTION
If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.
Luke 9:23
Jesus tells us today, "If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me." The cross here is a very important symbol.
Carrying the cross means we carry a burden of helping others, it means God is important, it means we have hope, it means we have forgiveness, it means we use our financial resources to help others, and it means we want to share God's love, forgiveness, and hope with our family, our friends, and our co-workers.
When we deny ourselves, we put God first.
