TODAY’S QUOTE

I never think of the future. It comes soon enough.

Albert Einstein

HAPPY FRIDAY

I did have a grand day yesterday and would like to thank everyone for all the birthday wishes and cards, e-mails, phone calls and all !

It’s really hard to believe that Friday is here once again. The week flew by!

Today is supposed to be the beginning of a little warm spell for us…the next 7 days have no snow in the forecast !

That is a blessing.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way!

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…POTATO CHIP DAY

American Indian, George Crum, made the first potato chips in 1853 while working as a chef in Saratoga Springs, NY. A hungry diner didn't like the thick French Fries and sent them back to the kitchen - twice! In exasperation, Crum sliced the fries too thin to eat with a fork - and potato chips were born.

TODAY’S TRIVIA

Barbie's Birthday - marking this date in 1959 when the doll went on sale in the U.S. More than 900-million Barbies have been sold, and still sell at the rate of about 120 dolls a minute.

First Ford Mustang produced (1964)

Today is National Crab Meat Day.

TODAY’S SMILE

There once was an elephant who came down with a very serious cold. He was so stuffed up that he couldn't really breath through his trunk anymore.

"No one has ever suffered as much as I," he moaned to himself. After he failed to get better for over a week, the elephant was sure that he was going to die. So he called all of his friends together for a farewell party, and he gave away all of his worldly possessions, in lieu of having a will.

The next day, the elephant woke up in perfect health, and penniless.

The moral?

Just because your trunk's packed doesn't mean you're ready to go.

TODAY’S WORD

penumbra (noun)

[pi-NUM-brah]

1. a fringe region of partial shadow around a darker inner shadow, as in an eclipse

2. the grayish outer area surrounding the dark center of a sunspot: "Rick used special photography equipment to incorporate penumbra into his abstract art."

3. an indistinct area, especially where something is unclear or uncertain

4. an outer region or periphery adjective forms: penumbral, penumbrous

TODAY’S REFLECTION

His master replied, ''Well-done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'

Matthew 25:23

Three servants received money to keep for their master. Two of them invested the money wisely, but the third was so fearful that he buried the money in the ground until his master's return.

Today's scripture was the answer the master gave to the risk takers. The fearful servant lost not only the money, but also his job.

There are powerful lessons for us in this story.

First, God has given each of us certain talents or abilities. When we have the courage and determination to use these abilities, we shall make wonderful gains in our lives and God will give us greater things to do.

Second, if we lack the initiative to try to make use of our abilities, like the third servant, we'll lose the ability. "Use it or lose it," as the saying goes. And we'll lose the joy of achievement.

I hope that you will use your gifts and hear God saying, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
