HAPPY WEDNESDAY !

Every morning, I sit here with my good hot coffee and try and wake up. It’s seems it’s getting harder and harder. Maybe it’s a good thing the days are getting shorter, so I’ll go to bed earlier.

It got quite warm here yesterday and I think today is supposed to be about the same. The nights however have been nice and cool and the house cools down naturally without very much a/c.

There is just not much of anything new or exciting at my house! I wish I could tell you I won the lottery or something exciting, but there you have it - - just ordinary days.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU !

TODAY IS…HAIR DYE DAY

People have been dying their hair for 3000 years, but the first commercial hair dye company wasn't started until 1909 in France. The "French Harmless Hair Dye Company" later changed their name to "L'Oreal". The products were not widely used, and by 1950, only 7% of American women dyed their hair. A Clairol champaign during the 1960's raised this figure almost overnight. Showing pictures of women with children and running the line "does she or doesn't she", hair dye was suddenly acceptable. By the end of the decade, 70% of American women were using hair dye - it's up to 75% today.

Today is National Sponge Cake Day.

1902 - Fannie Merrit Farmer opened her cooking school, Miss Farmer’s School of Cookery, in Boston, MA. Ms. Farmer was the leading cooking authority of her day. Known as the ‘mother of measurements’, she revolutionized food preparation throughout the world with her introduction of precise measurements -- the level teaspoon, tablespoon, cup, etc. And, in 1919, candy maker Frank O’Connor paid Fannie the ultimate compliment by naming his now famous company, Fanny Farmer Candy Shops.

1912: Dancer Gene Kelly was born in Pittsburgh. His movies included "Singing in the Rain," "Anchors Aweigh," and "An American in Paris." He died in 1996 at age 83.

1984: South Fork Ranch, the home of the fictitious Ewing clan of the CBS-TV show "Dallas" was sold. The ranch, a 200-acre spread near Dallas, Texas, was to be transformed from a tourist site into a hotel, according to the new owners.

TODAY’S SMILE

Start yourday off with a great big smile because every day should be a GREAT DAY.

Frivolous Old Gal

Remember, old folks are worth a fortune, With silver in their hair, gold in their teeth, Stones in their kidneys, lead in their feet, And gas in their stomachs.

I have become a little older now and A few changes have come into my life. Frankly, I have become quite a frivolous old gal. I am seeing five gentlemen every day.

As soon as I wake up, WILL POWER helps me get out of bed. Then I go down the hall and see JOHN. Next, CHARLIE HORSE comes along And takes a lot of my time and attention. When he leaves ARTHUR RITIS shows up And stays the rest of the day. He doesn't like to stay in one place very long, So he takes me from joint to joint. After such a busy day, I'm really tired And glad to relax with BEN GAY.

What a life!

The preacher came to visit me the other day. He said, at my age, I should be thinking about "The hereafter." I told him, "Oh, I do, all the time!

No matter Where I am ... in the parlor, upstairs, in the kitchen Or down in the basement ... I ask myself,

"NOW, WHAT AM I HERE AFTER?"
