HAPPY THURSDAY !
Well we had electricity all day at work yesterday !
That was the good news!
The bad news is that my washing machine is making a very squeaky noise (Its not the same one as last time) so I guess I’ll have to call the repairman back again ! Oh dear !
I guess there are always some joys and sorrows to each day. Thankfully the joys outweigh the sorrows.
I also had a visit from DD and her hubby yesterday evening. She’d made cabbage and noodles and brought me over some – yummmmm!!!
I hope you all have a great day !
Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY IS…#2 PENCIL DAY
One pencil can write 45,000 words or draw a line 35 miles long. It can write in zero gravity, upside down or under water. The "lead" is non-toxic graphite - the wood is cedar. Mass produced in Europe since 1622, the first U.S. pencils were made in 1812. And why are 75% of all pencils yellow? During the 1800s, the best graphite came from China. Yellow is the color they associate with royalty and respect. A pencil painted yellow became know as the best pencil you could buy
TODAY’S TRIVIA
Today is Coonskin Cap Day, always on the birthday of Davy Crockett, born on this date in 1786 in Hawkins County, Tennessee.
Today is Sand Castle Day, a day to make sand castles at beaches everywhere
Theatre goers first saw the magical The Wizard of Oz in a gala premiere on this night in 1939. The first movie to use the combination of black and white and color film starred Judy Garland as Dorothy Gale; Bert Lahr as both the Cowardly Lion and Zeke; Ray Bolger as the Scarecrow and Hunk; and Jack Haley as both the Tin Woodsman and Hickory. “Oh, we’re off to see the wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz. We hear he is a wiz of a wiz, if ever a wiz there was...”
1903 - The first Pulitzer Prize was awarded, as Joseph Pulitzer made a million-dollar donation to Columbia University. This provided the funding for the Pulitzer Prize awards to be made in Joseph Pulitzer’s name.
TODAY’S SMILE
Start your day off with a great big smile because every day should be a GREAT DAY.
There was once a young man who, in his youth, professed his desire become a great writer. When asked to define “great,” he said, “I want to write stuff that the whole world will read, stuff that people will react to on a truly emotional level — stuff that will make them scream in disbelief, cry in despair, howl in pain, and vent their anger in ways they’ve never dreamed of!”
The young man got his wish. He now works for Microsoft, writing error messages.
One more…
Have You Seen My Dog?
The front door was accidentally left open and our dog was gone.
After unsuccessfully whistling and calling, my husband got in the car and went looking for him. He drove around the neigbourhood for some time with no luck. Finally he stopped beside a couple out for a walk and asked if they had seen our dog.
"You mean the one following your car?" they asked.

TODAY’S REFLECTION
A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.
Proverbs 31: 10 & 18
For economic reasons or because of the women's liberation movement, more and more wives took jobs. We think of it as something that has developed during the past two generations, but the writer of Proverbs proves otherwise.
When the parents give quality time to their children and to each other, the family need not suffer when the parents both work. It is when a person becomes a workaholic and finds the job more important than family that troubles creep in
If the family worships together and trusts God for guidance, God will surely bless each member with the wisdom and courage to meet all problems that arise.
