TODAY’S QUOTE

Love me when I least deserve it, because that's when I really need it.

Swedish proverb

HAPPY THURSDAY !

This is the last day of my work week. I got all of my Wednesday work completed and half of my Thursday work done yesterday. Today I’ll get the rest done and then I enjoy a nice long 4 day weekend.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU !

TODAY IS…EAT OUTSIDE DAY

The calendar tells us the first day of fall is still weeks away. But, many people consider the last day of August the end of summer. It's a good time to plan one more cookout, picnic or just to eat out on the back step. Maybe a time to think about all the holidays that will be here before we know it!

PICNIC TV DINNER

6 hamburger patties

6 potatoes, sliced

6 celery sticks, chopped

6 carrots, chopped

your choice of seasonings (optional)

1. On a large sheet of tin foil, place one hamburger pattie. Pile 1/6 of each of the vegetables on top of the meat. Fold up the tin foil and seal it around all the edges. Repeat for the rest of the hamburger patties. 2. Place the 6 foil packets on your grill and cook until the meat is well done. OR place the foil packets on a cookie sheet and bake at 425 degrees F for 1 hour.

This is a great dish to eat outside. Each person gets their own foil packet to open and eat. Any seasoning you like should go on the meat before you pile on the vegetables. I sprinkle on a little dried onion soup - that's my favorite.

TODAY’S SMILE

Start your day off with a great big smile because every day should be a GREAT DAY.

The other day I was in the local auto parts store. A lady came in and asked for a seven ten cap. We all looked at each other and asked, "What's a seven ten cap?" She said, "You know, it's right on the engine.

Mine got lost somehow and I need a new one."

"What kind of a car is it?" they asked. Now I'm thinking maybe an old Datsun Seven Ten, but she says that it is a Buick. "Okay, lady, how big is it?" She made a circle with her hands about 3 1/2 inches in diameter. "What does it do?" we asked.

She said, " I don't know, but it's always been there."

One of us gave her a note pad and asked her if she could draw a picture of it. So she made a circle about 3 1/2 inches in diameter and in the center she wrote 710.

The guys behind the counter were watching as she wrote it.... And they just fell down behind the counter laughing hysterically. Then one guy said, "I think you want an oil cap."

She said, "Seven Ten cap, oil cap, I don't care what you call it. I just need one and I don't see what is so funny about it.

 (Yes, she was a blonde!)

**Now get a paper, draw a circle, write 710 inside of it. Now rotate the circle 180 degrees and check the results.

(That sounds like something I would do and no-I’m not a blond)

TODAY’S REFLECTION

 My cup overflows with blessings.

 Psalm 23:5

The overflowing cup was a powerful symbol in the days of David. Hosts in the ancient East used it to send a message to the guest. As long as the cup was kept full, the guest knew he was welcome. But when the cup sat empty, the host was hinting that the hour was late.

On those occasions, however, when the host really enjoyed the company of the person, he filled the cup to overflowing. He didn’t stop when the wine reached the rim; he kept pouring until the liquid ran over the edge of the cup and down on the table.

You have a place at God’s table. And he is filling your cup to overflowing
