AUGUST 21ST, 2006

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Life is what we make it. Always has been. Always will be.

Grandma Moses

TODAY’S ACTION

Live with admiration, hope and love.

TODAY’S QUOTE

Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

HAPPY MONDAY !

I had an adventurous Sunday ! I went off to church as usual and as I headed to the garage to get the car out I remembered I’d left the house key on the hook in the kitchen. I’d taken it off my key ring so that my nextdoor sister could let in the washer repair man on Friday !

I had to call DS#6 so he could call DD and thankfully she let me in. I couldn’t remember anyone's phone numbers and DS#5 wasn’t at home. I really need to get some more keys made.

DS#2 called me yesterday ! He had just arrived back in the states and was laid-over up north, but would be heading for home shortly. I bet his family was glad to see him. I know he was glad to be in the good old USA again. I’m am so thankful the good Lord brought him home safely.

Hopefully, today I’ll get my mind back and remember the keys and everything else I’m supposed to do. I hate to think that my age has anything to do with it, but it might ???

Take good care all !

Have a great day ! Another wonderful one on the Way !!!

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

 GOD BLESS YOU !

TODAY IS…DISTILLED WATER DAY

Distilled water is the purest water available. It's just water - plain old H2O. Everything else is removed when it's converted from liquid to steam during the distillation process. It has no taste, so using it can bring out the flavor of your coffee, tea or food. And it won't leave mineral deposits to clog up your coffee pot. The only problem is... since we are used to drinking water out of the tap, it doesn't taste like water!

TODAY’S TRIVIA

Sit Back and Relax Day - Take time to enjoy the summer, now, before it is gone

Today is Cadillac Day. The first Cadillac was built on this day in 1902

Today is National Spumoni Day.

Hawaii became the 50th U.S. state on this date in 1959. Although the Aloha State is made up of a chain of 122 volcanic islands spread out over 1,600 miles, only seven, at the southeastern end of the chain, are inhabited: Hawaii (the Big Island), Maui (the Valley Isle), Lanai (the Pineapple Isle), Molokai (the Friendly Isle), Kauai (the Garden Isle), Niihau (the Forbidden Island), and Oahu (the Gathering Place). Oahu is the home of the state capital, Honolulu, and about 75% of the state’s population

1841 - John Hampton of New Orleans, LA, received a patent for venetian blinds. Now if he could have just invented self-cleaning venetian blinds...

1888- William Burroughs of St. Louis, MO patented his adding machine. It was an invention that bore the name of Burrough’s office machine company for many years.

1912 - The first boy reached the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America program. He was Arthur R. Eldred of Oceanside, NY.

TODAY’S SMILE

Start your day off with a great big smile because every day should be a GREAT DAY.

The preacher, in his Sunday sermon, used "Forgive Your Enemies" as his subject. After a long sermon, he asked how many were willing to forgive their enemies. About half held up their hands. Not satisfied, he harangued for another twenty minutes and repeated his question. This time he received a response of eighty percent. Still unsatisfied, he lectured for fifteen minutes and repeated his question.

With thoughts of Sunday dinner, all responded except one old gentleman in the rear. Mr. Jones, are you not willing to forgive your enemies?"

"I don't have any."

"Mr. Jones, that is very unusual. How old are you?"

"Eighty-six."

"Mr. Jones, please come down in front and tell the congregation how a man can live to be 86 and not have an enemy in the world."

The old man teetered down the aisle and slowly turned around. "It's easy. I outlived 'em!"

To remove worry wrinkles,

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

2 Thessalonians 3:16

When life gets impossibly difficult and the future does not look good, include God for just a minute.

Of course, it is easy to say we must include God for just a minute. Words are easy to say and easy to read. But when the chaos and strife of your life begin to eat away at your heart, include God for just a minute.

When you lose the will to live or you lose the will to move forward, include God for just a minute in as many minutes as you can.

You do not need to try to include God for a whole day, but instead include God in your life just one minute at a time. Then when you include God in your minutes, one minute after another, soon the minutes with God begin to add up into hours.

Soon you begin to see Him in all the times of your life, especially in the times when circumstances look difficult or impossible. It is God’s utmost desire for you to include Him in yo ur life this minute, no matter what this minute is like.
