ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

JANUARY 23RD, 2007

TODAY'S THOUGHT

The greater the obstacle the more glory in overcoming it.

Moliere

TODAY’S ACTION

Let each day be your masterpiece.

TODAY’S QUOTE

Miracles seem to rest, not so much upon faces or voices or healing power coming suddenly near to us from far off, but upon our perceptions being made finer so that for a moment our eyes can see and our ears can hear that which is about us always

Willa Cather

HAPPY TUESDAY

Brrrchill ! It is cold and getting colder !

Today DS#4 takes off for his business trip to Chicago. I hope he takes his warm jacket…he’ll be needing it. Please join me in praying for a safe trip for him today and tomorrow when he travels home again.

It looks like a very quiet week here . Nothing on the calendar after work and that’s a good thing because I just want to get home and stay in where it is warm.

My boss leaves on vacation today so it should be pretty quiet in the office. I guess I’ll do the data entries and try to stay awake.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY IS…PEANUT BUTTER DAY!

Originally called Nutmeal, peanut butter has only been around for 100 years. But, it's a staple in 85% of American homes, and we eat about 3 pounds of peanut butter per person each year ... that's a total of 700 million pounds - enough to coat the floor of the Grand Canyon! Children and women prefer creamy; men like the crunchy stuff. If you have Arachibutyrophobia? You're afraid of the peanut butter stuck to the roof of your mouth!

TODAY’S SMILE

A traveler, between flights at an airport, went to a lounge and bought a small package of cookies. Then she sat down and began reading a newspaper. Gradually, she became aware of a rustling noise.

From behind her paper, she was flabbergasted to see a neatly dressed man helping himself to her cookies. Not wanting to make a scene, she leaned over and took a cookie herself. A minute or two passed, and then came more rustling. He was helping himself to another cookie!

By this time, they had come to the end of the package, but she was so angry she didn't dare allow herself to say anything. Then, as if to add insult to injury, the man broke the remaining cookie in two, pushed half across to her, and ate the other half and left.

Still fuming some time later when her flight was announced, the woman opened her handbag to get her ticket. To her shock and embarrassment, there she found her pack of unopened cookies!

How wrong our assumptions can be.

Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment."

John 7:24

TODAY’S WORD

1. Thoughtful consideration; meditation.

2. A serious thought; a carefully considered reflection

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him.

Colossians 1:10

Sometimes are we ungrateful for what God’s given us—but we want more. Somehow we feel that God owes us good health, a comfortable life, material blessings. Of course, God doesn’t owe us anything, yet He gives us everything.

Each day, whether good or bad, is one more gift from our God. Our grateful response should be to live to please Him.

Life is a gift from God to be lived for God.
