HAPPY TUESDAY

BACK TO WORK !

I go back to work this morning, and DS#2 and family are leaving for home today. It will be a long drive for them so please join me in a little prayer for a safe trip for them. This will only be the beginning of many more travels for them this year. New assignments with the military and new homes for them and the grand’babes’.

I am just so thankful that I was able to have this nice long visit with them.

By next weekend the decorations will all be packed away and Christmas 2006 a memory. We all have a New Year to celebrate, to make the most of, to enjoy. New happenings are always exciting and something to look forward to.

I got this good advice from one my New Years Day devotionals

… If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans, but I think it is good to make plans and if one is praying and asking God for guidance than they really are not so much our plans but God's. At least one always hopes they are. One thing I have found out.. if they are not... God soon lets us know!

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

God Bless You !

TODAY IS…GET OVER IT DAY !

Today is devoted to letting go of the past and any other obtacles in your way - a hearty "Get Over It" should be spoken every time you look in a mirror.

TODAY’S SMILE

BABY BLUE WISDOM

Speaker and author Carol Kent was on the fast track to being an absentee parent--until her young son, Jason, made a simple observation. She recalls:

"We were eating breakfast together, and I had on an old pair of slacks and a fuzzy old sweater. He flashed his baby blues at me over his cereal bowl and said, 'Mommy, you look so pretty today.' I didn't even have makeup on!

So I said, 'Honey, why would you say I look pretty today? Normally I'm dressed in a suit and high heels.' And he said, 'Whenyou look like that, I know you're going some place; but when you look like this, I know you're mine.'

"His words were like an arrow piercing my heart. I realized I might fail at being a godly Christian mother because I was saying yes to so many speaking engagements. I got on my knees with my precious appointment book and offered it to God."

Jan L. Senn in Today's Christian Woman

The old year is dead, the new year is born. Humbly, fearfully, we sink on our knees, and slowly, in answer to our prayers, comes back something of the old faith of our childhood, and we rejoice that we are granted one more New Year's day on which to "begin again" -- not in our childish way, with utter disregard of the past, but trusting, patiently, knowing that we must ever carry with us our past, and rejoicing that, with God's help, we may make the future better because of the past.

Then, as we rise from our knees, we look bravely forward to to the veiled figure that stands at our threshold; we know only that it is God's new year. May He bless it to us all!

Lots of Good Advice for the New Year

http://www.farmersalmanactv.com/

Weather Forecast for those of you living in the Midwest and East, remember winter is still very new. It officially started on December 21st. Unfortunately, a potent El Nino usually means mild and wet weather in the East, and that's exactly what we've seen so far.

According to the Farmers' Almanac's long range outlook, winter will get here. I'd recommend that you keep your jackets and gloves handy. Mother Nature is clobbering the West, but as I see it, the cold, shivery conditions will move east as we move into February and March.

January 2007 1st-3rd. Light snow. 4th-7th. Light snow continues, then clearing. 8th-11th. Periods of snow most areas. 12th-15th. Clearing, cold. 16th-19th. Light snow, flurries. 20th-23rd. Clouding up, with snow developing. 24th-27th. Clearing skies, blustery winds. 28th-31st. Fair skies, then wet.

We’ll see…

TODAY’S WORD

TODAY’S REFLECTION

So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content

1 Timothy 6:8

If you stop and think about it, there are lots of things money simply cannot do. It can't buy one more day for someone with a terminal illness. It can't put broken families back together. It can't bring back the people we love who have died. It can't stop bombs or buy world peace.

Money, and the things it can buy, is nice, but sometimes we get so wrapped up in having more that we forget to give thanks for having enough. The best gifts are the priceless memories that you make throughout the year. You know the ones I mean, the ones you freeze inside the picture album of your mind and then take out and re-examine from time to time.

I already have everything I need and more tucked away in the photo album of my mind
