HAPPY SATURDAY

Just to let you all know there was no surgery for my Dad yet. On Friday he started running a temperature, so surgery was out because of that . They are not sure of what caused the fever , but he was some better by evening. Now it will be Monday before he can have the pacemaker put in, if everything else is ok. We’ll be going to visit with him this morning .

Today is the Stroll for Epilepsy for our ‘Sweetheart’. DS#1 and family have formed at team and DD and her hubby, DS#5 and his wife and the Newlyweds will all be doing the stroll with them to raise funds for the Epilepsy Foundation of Central Ohio. I wish them all well and am sorry I can’t be there to support them too !

That’s the news from home as I know it…

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful day on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY’S SMILE

Frogs

Author Unknown

A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. All the other frogs gathered around the pit. When they saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead.

The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all of their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died.

The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?" The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.

This story teaches two lessons:

1. There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day.

2. A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes to kill them. Be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path. The power of words....it is sometimes hard to understand that an encouraging word can go such a long way. Anyone can speak words that tend to rob another of the spirit to continue in difficult times

Special is the individual who will take the time to encourage another.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Mark 8: 36

In North Africa there is a very easy way to capture monkeys. A gourd, which a hole just sufficiently large so that a monkey can thrust his hand into it, is filled with nuts and fastened firmly to a branch of a tree at sunset.

During the night a monkey will discover the scent of food, and its source, and will put his hand into the gourd and grasp a handful of nuts. But the hole is too small for the monkey to withdraw his clenched fist, and he has not sense enough to let go of his bounty so that he may escape.

Thus he pulls and pulls without success, and when morning comes he is quickly and easily taken.

We must make sure that we, like the monkey, are not holdingon too tight to the things of this world
