HAPPY MONDAY

AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR STAR !

May the dear Lord Bless you today and always!

It was a very fast weekend and was able to visit with my Dad both Saturday and Sunday. He really seemed to be in good spirits yesterday and we are waiting to see what today will bring for him. Hopefully some good news.

Thank you for all your prayers! God Bless You !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY IS…FRENCH FRIES DAY

Are French Fries French? French fries were probably invented in Belgium, but nobody knows for sure. The word "french" refers to the way that are made. Any food cut up into strips is called "frenched", so potatoes cut into strips and fried were known as French Fried Potatoes. Maybe McDonald's started calling them French Fries!

UN-FRIED FRIES

1-1/2 lb. baking potatoes (about 3 medium)

1/4 cup KRAFT Light House Italian Reduced Fat Dressing

1/4 cup KRAFT Reduced Fat Parmesan Style Grated Topping

PREHEAT oven to 425°F.

Wash potatoes; pat dry with paper towels. Cut into 1/4-inch thick strips; transfer to large bowl. Add dressing and grated topping; toss well. ARRANGE potatoes in single layer on large baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Spray potatoes with cooking spray.

BAKE 12 min.

Turn potatoes over with large spatula. Continue baking 10 to 12 min. or until golden brown and crisp.

TIP: To easily cut potatoes into strips, slice potato in half lengthwise so it lays flat on cutting board. This will hold it in place as you cut

1861 - Kansas, the Sunflower State, entered the United States of America this day. The capital of the 34th state is Topeka. It’s easy to figure out why Kansas is the Sunflower State; it’s a toss-up as to whether Kansas has more of those huge yellow blossoms that are also the state flower, or amber waves of wheat.

TODAY’S SMILE

CHOCOLATE CHUCKLES

If you've got melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.

Nine out of ten people like chocolate. The tenth person always lies...

I could give up chocolate, but I'm not a quitter.

Man cannot live on chocolate alone; but woman sure can.

Chocolate is cheaper than therapy and you don't need an appointment.

In the cookies of life, friends are the chocolate chips.

Chocolate is nature's way of making up for Mondays.

Stress wouldn't be so hard to take if it were chocolate covered.

Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger.

Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done.

TODAY’S WORD

\kwoh-TID-ee-un\adjective

1 : occurring every day

2 : belonging to each day : everyday

3 : commonplace, ordinary

As an employee, Fiona is gifted at solving the difficult problems that arise from time to time, but she is often careless about the quotidian responsibilities of her job.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:21

Too often we spend our money before we consider whether or not the object is really worth what we spend. Prayerful living leads us to carefully arrange our priorities because we have the discernment to analyze what is worth the cost. When we take the time to pray and ask for guidance from the Lord, we may avoid spending money foolishly. Ask yourself whether or not we can do without it, and whether or not we can afford it. If we cannot answer "yes" to these questions, we avoid the purchase. Then we have peace, rather than the stress of debts we cannot pay http://www.dailyguideposts.com
