HAPPY SUNDAY
Saturday was wet and dreary and the weather folks say cooooold weather is headed our way. Lots of folks have Monday off from work or school and that may be a good thing because chances are we’ll get snow .
The week ahead has one bright light and that is Dulcimer night on Tuesday. Usually we take a break during January thru March so we don’t have to go out on the cold dark nights, but we missed our Christmas get together.
January has lots of family birthdays in it and this coming Saturday will be DS#6’s and our Princesses Birthday. It looks like they’ll be long distance celebrations as I probably won’t see either of them.
We started with the Birthdays last week with our Pretty Lady and on the 29th we’ll celebrate Our Star’s Birthday too!
I’ll be going to church this morning and then home as usual to finish up what wasn’t done yesterday. I really never get finished – just continue on.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way.
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
TODAY IS…LOVE A PIG DAY
Despite their bad rep, pigs are actually very clean intelligent animals - and picky eaters! Sure, they roll around in the mud but there is one simple reason for this... they can't sweat like people do, so rolling around in the mud (or water is good too) keeps them cool! Studies over the past several years have revealed that pigs are one of the most intelligent animals on the planet - even smarter than dogs! Pigs say
"We are not the other white meat - we're PINK!"

TODAY’S SMILE
It's Time to Diet & Exercise When...
..you try to do a few pushups and discover that certain body parts refuse to leave the floor.
..your children look through your wedding album and want to know who Daddy's first wife was.
..you get winded just saying the words "six-kilometer run."
..you come to the conclusion that, if God really wanted you to touch your toes each morning, He would have put them somewhere around your knees.
..you analyze your body honestly and decide what you should develop first is your sense of humor.
..you step on a talking scale and it says, "Come back when you're alone."
..to you, "Itsy-Bitsy Teenie-Weenie Yellow Polka dot Bikini" and "The Impossible Dream" become the same song.
..you accept the fact that you can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but not while you're wearing a bathing suit.

TODAY’S WORD
bluestocking \BLOO-stah-king\ noun :
a woman having intellectual or literary interests
In mid-18th century England, a group of ladies decided to replace evenings of card playing and idle chatter with "conversation parties," inviting illustrious men of letters to discuss literary and intellectual topics with them. One regular guest was scholar-botanist Benjamin Stillingfleet. His hostesses willingly overlooked his cheap blue worsted stockings (a type disdained by the elite) in order to have the benefit of his lively conversation. Those who considered it inappropriate for women to aspire to learning derisively called the group the "Blue Stocking Society." The women who were the original bluestockings rose above the attempted put-down and adopted the epithet as a name for members of their society
TODAY’S REFLECTION
The people of Israel called the bread manna. It was white like coriander seed and tasted like wafers made with honey.
Exodus 16:31
The Israelites praised God when he parted the Red Sea and saved them from the Egyptians. Two months later in the desert, they were hungry. Although they grumbled, God sent them manna to eat. Even then, they could not be satisfied and obey his instructions, which were that they were not take more than they needed for the day. Some attempted to hoard extra manna.
Why is it that many times we can't be satisfied with the "manna" God gives us?
Heavenly Father, give me the grace to be satisfied and not covet what others have. Amen.
