ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

JANUARY 19TH,2007

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs.

Henry Ford

TODAY’S ACTION

Find strength for today and hope for tomorrow.

TODAY’S QUOTE

Blessed is the person who is too busy to worry in the daytime and too sleepy to worry at night.

HAPPY FINALLY FRIDAY

I believe that the good Lord always knows what he’s doing and there is no doubt in my mind that he created weekends.

This past week I put in 5 ½ hours of overtime in at work and I do need the weekend to help balance things out a bit. Keeping things in balance isn’t always easy, but I do know from experience that I don’t operate very well when things are out of kilter.

Take good care all !

Have a great day ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY IS…DIABETES AWARENESS DAY

Millions of Americans with diabetes are at risk of developing diabeticeye disease, a leading cause of blindness among people between the ages of 20 and 74. Help raise awareness for the importance of dilated eye exams for everyone with diabetes. Get more information here:

TODAY’S SMILE

Little Johnny had bought Grandma a book for her birthday and wanted to write a suitable inscription. He racked his brain until suddenly he remembered that his father had a book with an inscription of which he was very proud, so Johnny decided to use it.

You can imagine Grandma's surprise when she opened her book, a Bible, and found neatly inscribed the following phrase:

"To Grandma, with the compliments of the author."

ONE MORE…FOR THE GUYS

My wife still uses curlers in her hair after she washes it. She came into the Family Room as I was watching TV. I guess I stared at her funny because she said, "I just set my hair."

The last thing I remember saying was,

"Oh, really? And what time does it go off?"

TODAY’S WORD

brumal

(adjective) [BROO-mahl] of, pertaining to, or occurring in winter: "Most of the houses in our little town are used as brumal retreats for people fleeing the dark slosh of the city.”

ORIGIN: Approximately 1513; from Latin, 'brumalis,' from 'bruma': winter, from 'brevima': the shortest (day), winter solstice, archaic superlative of 'brevis': short.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

One who gives an honest answer gives a kiss on the lips.

Proverbs 24:26

In a U.S. NEWS AND WORLD REPORT/CNN poll, Americans said that the quality which they thought was most important in a friend was honesty. It was considered to be more than twice as important as sharing common interests or having a sense of humor.

Think how terrible it is to have a friend, or a child, or a parent, or a husband, or a wife, whom you cannot trust. What a tragedy.

When we cheat, we hurt people we love. When we are dishonest, we hurt the people we love. We hurt our God of all love.
