HAPPY THURSDAY!

And Happy New Month of June!

Yesterday was supposed to be our last day of hot temps and high humidity for a least a week. A cool front came though bringing some storms along with it. Today it’ll cool down in the mid 70’s and I’m very thankful for that !

DD is supposed to come by this evening and get some plants from my overgrown day lilys , Black eyed Susans and hosta plants to take to the campsite to plant there. They’ve outgrown their space in my flower beds and need to be thinned out.

They’ll be going camping again, but I’ll be staying home this weekend.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way!

TODAY IS…FLIP A COIN DAY

Heads or Tails? It was Julius Caesar who started the practice of flipping a coin to make decisions. His own head was on one side of every Roman coin, so "heads" determined the winner in each flip. People thought "heads" meant that Caesar agreed with the decision. The coin flip was used in serious litigation involving property, marriage and even criminal guilt. Just think how many lawyers would be out of a job if we went back to this method today!

TODAY’S SMILE

While driving in Pennsylvania, a family caught up to an Amish carriage. The owner of the carriage obviously had a sense of humor, because attached to the back of the carriage was a hand printed sign...

"Energy efficient vehicle. Runs on oats and grass.

Caution: Do not step on exhaust

TODAY’S WORD

Pronunciation: /kwy-ES-unt/

adj : quiet, still, or at rest; inactive

The quiescent volcano finally erupted after five years

TODAY’S REFLECTION

My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble; when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Proverbs 3: 21-24

When we use sound judgment, we take time to consider our words and actions, thus avoiding the mistakes that cause negative emotions.

If we are discerning, we are able to distinguish between wisdom and foolishness. We can withstand hurtful actions of others.

Then we are able to go to bed with a clear conscience and a happy heart.
