TODAY’S QUOTE

Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.

Henry Ford

HAPPY THURSDAY !

Opps! Yesterday I said it was DDIL#6’s birthday ! Sorry, got the numbers mixed up – It was DDIL#5’s birthday ! The picture was the correct one ! Maybe my age is beginning to show—anyway know that the thought was there.

Yesterday it got into the high 70’s here and rain is in the forecast along with some cooler temps too.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way!

TODAY IS ,,,TUPPERWARE DAY

Tupperware was invented by Earl Tupper - a chemist for DuPont. He thought polyethylene might be used as a household plastic. In 1945, he made his first item - a 7 oz tumbler. A year later, he started making bowls with vacuum sealed lids. House Beautiful magazine called his products "Fine Art for 39 Cents". In 1951, he came up with another new idea - home marketing. Hosting a Tupperware Party quickly became the rage all over the country.

TUPPERWARE BREAD

 3 1/2 c. warm water

3 pkgs. of yeast

6 Tablespoons sugar

6 Tablespoons melted butter

4 teaspoons salt

2 eggs, beaten

10 cups flour

IP: If you don't have a tupperware bowl, you can use a regular bowl and cover it with a dish towel. Let the dough rise for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

1. Using your large tupperware bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water. Add the sugar and melted butter. Stir in salt and beaten eggs. Add the 10 cups of flour last.

2. Stir until thoroughly mixed (the dough will be sticky). Snap on the bowl's cover and put in warm place until the seal pops on the lid.

3. Turn out onto a floured surface. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and put into greased loaf pans. Cover pans with a damp dish towel and let rise for 30 minutes.

4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until done. Cool on racks.

TODAY’S SMILE

Blue Necks are Northerners -- the opposite of Rednecks.

Because of Redneck jokes, here are some takes on how Southern folks look at Northerners (or how Northerners sometimes think of themselves;)

YOU JUST MIGHT BE A BLUE NECK IF...

Instead of referring to two or more people as "Y'all," you call them "you guys," even if both of them are women.

You think Heinz Ketchup is really SPICY.

You don't have any problems pronouncing "Worcestershire sauce" correctly.

For breakfast, you would prefer potatoes-au-gratin to grits.

You don't know what a moon pie is. You've never had an RC Cola.

You've never, ever eaten okra -- fried, boiled, or pickled.

You eat fried chicken with a knife and fork.

You drink either "Pop" or "Soda"- instead of "Cokes."

You've never eaten and don't know how to make a tomato sandwich.

You don't even have one can of WD-40 somewhere around the house.

The last time you smiled was when you blocked someone from getting on an on-ramp to the highway.

You don't have any hats in your closet that advertise feed stores.

You call binoculars opera glasses.

You don't know anyone with at least two first names (i.e., Joe Bob, Faye Ellen, Billy Ray, Mary Jo, Bubba Dean, Joe Dan, Mary Alice).

You don't know any women with male names (i.e., Tommie, Bobbie, Johnnie, Jimmie). You don't have Maw-maw's & Pawpaw's.

None of your fur coats are homemade.

(I’m a grand mixture - it seems)

TODAY’S WORD

myr·i·ad adjective.

1. Constituting a very large, indefinite number; innumerable: the myriad fish in the ocean. 2. Composed of numerous diverse elements or facets: the myriad life of the metropolis. - noun. 1. A vast number: the myriads of bees in the hive.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, 'Samuel! Samuel!' Then Samuel said, 'Speak, for your servant is listening.'

I Samuel 3:10

Samuel listened to the Lord and was able to do extraordinary deeds during his lifetime. We may not have the privilege of actually hearing the Lord's voice speaking to us, but there are many other ways that we can hear God speak, We can hear God speak to us hrough godly parents, friends, Bible study and prayer or through a lovely flower or beautiful music. Our problem is that we are so busy doing what we think must be done that we don't take time to listen.
