Margaret Lee Runbeck

HAPPY SATURDAY

Day 2 of my 4 day weekend !

This morning my sisters and I are supposed to go to the cemetery to put flowers on the graves of our family members there. There are not too many occasions that we all three get together these days so it’ll be good to do this with them.

The weather is warming up and will be sunny all day! Maybe I’ll even get to get outside to do a few things in the yard. This evening we’ll be visiting my Dad as usual.

It looks like a very busy day ahead

Three of my children and their families are camping together this weekend. Tomorrow I’ll be going to visit them.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS…SUNSCREEN DAY

Sunscreens either block or absorb ultraviolet light. They are all labeled with a Sun Protection Factor. To understand SPF, just multiply. If you would normally befine in the sun for 10 minutes, you can apply a SPF-10 sunscreen and be fine for 100 minutes. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends that we all use a SPF-15 or higher and apply it to all areas of the body that are exposed to the sun. Reapply the sunscreen every two hours, even on cloudy days.

TODAY’S TRIVIA

1933: Walt Disney's Academy Award-winning animated short "The Three Little Pigs" was first released

1937: The newly completed Golden Gate Bridge connecting San Francisco and Marin County, California, was opened to the public

TODAY’S SMILE

Some first graders were discussing a picture of a family. One little boy in the picture had a different color hair than the other family members.

One child suggested that maybe he was adopted. A little girl named Jocelynn said, "I know all about adoptions because I was adopted." "What does it mean to be adopted?" asked another child.

"It means that you grew in your mommy's heart instead of her tummy." said Jocelynn

TODAY’S WORD

1 : to extinguish the guilt incurred by

2 : to make amends for

TODAY’S REFLECTION

If someone strikes you on one cheek,

turn to him theother also

Luke 6:29

This command from our Lord and Savior is a very difficult one because it is normal to want to retaliate for wrongs that are done to us. We are too quick to think of ways to take revenge on the person who has hurt us deeply.

But God's ways are not the ways of the world If you truly try to love others, you will be forgiving rather than vengeful or confrontational.

Perhaps the best revenge we can have is living full, happy lives in spite of hurts

TODAY’S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER’S ALMANAC
