In every nation, there are wounds to heal.

In every heart, there is the power to do it.

HAPPY FRIDAY

It’s a vacation day for me ! Yes, I’m home slowly waking up with that good cup of coffee right now. Yesterday was like a summer day. Sunny and warm to start, but by the time I got home the thunderstorms rolled in and we are supposed to have a chance of them most of today too! I really don’t mind that it is raining today, because I have lots to do inside.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday are supposed to be warm and sunny so there will be plenty of time to get out doors and do things then.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way!

TODAY IS…CHERRY DESSERT DAY

Sweet cherries are mainly grown in the Pacific coast states and are either sold as fresh fruit or processed into maraschino cherries. Tart cherries (also called pie cherries), are best known as the key ingredient in desserts. Theymake excellent pies, jams, jellies, preserves and juice. About 75% of the tart cherries in the US are grown in Michigan

1927 Ford Motor Company manufactures its 15 millionth Model T automobile

1959: The word "Frisbee" became a registered trademark of the Wham-O company. The name had come from New Haven, Connecticut's, Frisbie Pie Company, whose drivers played catch with tin plates. Yale students reportedly yelled, "Frisbie!" to warn the catchers the tin was sailing in their direction. Historians can't agree on whether the original tossed tins held pies or Frisbie sugar cookies.

TODAY’S SMILE

Do we have it good or what?? Years ago a Kentucky grandmother gave the new bride the following recipe for washing clothes. It appears below just as it was written, and despite the spelling, has a bit of philosophy. This is an exact copy as written and found in an old scrap book (with spelling errors and all).

1. Bilt fire in backyard to heat kettle of rain water.

2. Set tubs so smoke wont blow in eyes if wind is pert.

3. Shave one hole cake of lie soap in bilin water.

4. Sort things, make 3 piles. 1 pile white, 1 pile colored, 1 pile work britches and rags.

5. To make starch, stir flour in cool water to smooth, then thin down with bilin water.

6. Take white things, rub dirty spots on board, scrub hard, and then bile. Rub colored don't bile, just rinch and starch.

7. Take things out of kettle with broomstick handle, then rinch, and starch.

8. Hang old rags on fence.

9. Spread tea towels on grass.

10. Pore rinch water in flower bed.

11. Scrub porch with hot soapy water.

12. Turn tubs upside down.

13. Go put on clean dress, smooth hair with hair combs. Brew cup of tea, sit and rock a spell and count your blessings.

* Paste this over your washer and dryer and next time when you think things are bleak, read it again and give thanks for your blessings.
