HAPPY WEDNESDAY !

I had a great time with my dulcimer buddies last night and this evening I’m invited to dinner at my old camping buddy’s house. I guess this is my week to go out and about after work.

Tomorrow evening I have to get my hair cut. My curly silver locks are getting a bit wild especially with all the rain. It’s called frizzzzzz.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way!

TODAY IS…MACAROON DAY

During the Roman days, cookies were like hard crackers. They had to dip them in wine to make them soft enough to eat. Over the centuries a raised biscuit cookie was made - still hard, but an improvement. Cookies as we know them today weren't developed until about 100 years ago - except for the macaroon. There are recipes for macaroons as far back as the 1600s

COCONUT MACAROONS

4 egg whites

1 1/4 cups sugar

1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups flaked coconut

 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Grease and flour cookie sheets, or line them with parchment paper and spray with vegetable oil.

2 In a medium bowl, beat egg whites, vanilla and cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and whip to medium peaks. Toss together the flour, salt and coconut, then fold into the egg white mixture.

3 Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto the cookie sheets. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes. Cookies will be slightly golden. Allow to cool on the cookie sheets for easy removal

TODAY’S SMILE

It was midnight and the Mother mouse began leading her baby mice across the hardwood to the kitchen for a late night snack. Just as they turned the corner by the stove, they saw the black silhouette of a cat rise up near the table. "Meeeee---oowwwww!" went the house cat. "Oh, my!" thought the Mother mouse.

Then, she turned and said to her babies, "Children, watch closely." The mother mouse stood on her back legs, threw her head back, and went, "RUFF! RUFF!...." and followed that with her best canine growl. The cat immediately ran helter-skelter out the door.

Mother mouse then turned to her children and said, "You see, my dears, there are advantages to learning a second language.

TODAY’S WORD

A feeling of anxiety or apprehension often accompanied by depression.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

I have hallowed this house which thou hast built.

1 Kings 3

This co-operation between man and God pervades all life. Man performs the outward and mechanical; God the inward and spiritual. Each day may be a building, reared between sunrise and sunset, with our activities; but it was vain to hope to realize our ideal unless the structure becomes a Temple filled with God.

Build what you will; but never be satisfied unless God sets his eyes and heart upon your life, hallowing and sanctifying each day
