TODAY’S QUOTE
The more one worries, the older one gets; the more one laughs, the younger one feels.
Chinese proverb
HAPPY WEDNESDAY!
OVER THE HUMP DAY!
Oh yes, I was in bed by 9 o’clock last night ! And I feel much better for it. I just can’t function well at all with out my sleep. It’ll be a busy day at work and that means the day will go by faster.
I’ve decided Wednesday is now my laundry day. It seems to work well that way. So that’s my excitement for the evening. It will be just an ‘ordinary’ day here.
Thank the good Lord for them!
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
25 WORDS
God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name
TODAY IS…WEAR PURPLE DAY
Why was purple worn by royalty? Mainly because purple dyes were so hard to make. Using lichen, the plant had to react with ammonia (this meant urine in ancient days) and sit out in the air for 2 weeks. Then it was mixed with pot ash to be used as a dye. This was much harder than just boiling berries or leaves for other colors, so purple dye was only for the wealthy. Today, all you have to do is spill some grape kool-aid and everything turns purple.

Nickel's Birthday - The U.S. nickel was first coined in 1866 On its face was a shield, while on the reverse was the number 5. (the silver half-dime was used up to this point). In 1913, the U.S. Treasury minted nickels with Indian heads on one side and buffaloes on the other. Today’s nickel is made of only 25 percent nickel and 75 percent copper.
Table Knife Birthday : In 1639, French Cardinal Richelieu invented the table knife by ordering that any knives at his table be rounded off at the tip.

TODAY’S SMILE
A parable is told of a farmer who owned an old mule. The mule fell into the farmer's well. The farmer heard the mule 'braying' - or - whatever mules do when they fall into wells. After carefully assessing the situation, the farmer sympathized with the mule, but decided that neither the mule nor the well was worth the trouble of saving.
Instead, he called his neighbors together and told them what had happened. . .and enlisted them to help haul dirt to bury the old mule in the well and put him out of his misery. Initially, the old mule was hysterical! But as the farmer and his neighbors continued shoveling and the dirt hit his back. . .a thought struck him. It suddenly dawned on him that every time a shovel load of dirt landed on his back. . .HE SHOULD SHAKE IT OFF AND STEP UP!
This he did, blow after blow. "Shake it off and step up. . .shake it off and step up. . .shake it off and step up!" he repeated to encourage himself.
No matter how painful the blows, or distressing the situation seemed the old mule fought "panic" and just kept right on SHAKING IT OFF AND STEPPING UP! You're right! It wasn't long before the old mule, battered and exhausted, STEPPED TRIUMPHANTLY OVER THE WALL OF THAT WELL!
What seemed like it would bury him, actually blessed him. . .all because of the manner in which he handled his adversity.
THAT'S LIFE! If we face our problems and respond to them positively, and refuse to give in to panic, bitterness, or self-pity. . .THE ADVERSITIES THAT COME ALONG TO BURY US USUALLY HAVE WITHIN THEM THE POTENTIAL TO BENEFIT AND BLESS US!
Remember that FORGIVENESS - FAITH - PRAYER - PRAISE and HOPE. . .all are excellent ways to "SHAKE IT OFF AND STEP UP" out of the wells in which we find ourselves!

TODAY’S REFLECTION
God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
Philippians 4:9
When you and I do the most what we do the best for the glory of God, we are “marvelously functioning parts in Christ’s body”
Rom. 12:5 MSG
You play no small part, because there is no small part to be played. “All of you together are Christ’s body, and each one of you is a separate and necessary part of it” ( I Cor. 12:27 )
“Separate” and “necessary.” Unique and essential. No one else has been given your lines…The Author of the human drama entrusted your part to you alone. Live your life, or it won’t be lived.
We need you to be you.
You need you to be you.
