HAPPY THURSDAY!

It was a chilly, wet, dark and dreary Wednesday, but today I think the sun will come through for us. It may take awhile, but eventually it’s supposed to shine.

It looks like our work is really going to start getting busy. There are lots of jobs coming in and that means more work for me. Hopefully I’ll be up to it all.

It seems my body and my mind is moving at a slower pace these days. The good Lord always provides and I’m sure he’ll give me the where-with-all to get it all done.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God,I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…Macaroons Day !

During the Roman days, cookies were like hard crackers. They had to dip them in wine to make them soft enough to eat. Over the centuries a raised biscuit cookie was made - still hard, but an improvement. Cookies as we know them today weren't developed until about 100 years ago - except for the macaroon. There are recipes for macaroons as far back as the 1600s.

4 egg whites 1

1/4 cups sugar

1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups flaked coconut

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Grease and flour cookie sheets, or line them with parchment paper and spray with vegetable oil. 2 In a medium bowl, beat egg whites, vanilla and cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and whip to medium peaks. Toss together the flour, salt and coconut, then fold into the egg white mixture. 3 Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto the cookie sheets. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes. Cookies will be slightly golden. Allow to cool on the cookie sheets for easy removal

TODAY’S SMILE

It was midnight and the Mother mouse began leading her baby mice across the hardwood to the kitchen for a late night snack. Just as they turned the corner by the stove, they saw the black silhouette of a cat rise up near the table. "Meeeee---oowwwww!" went the house cat.

"Oh, my!" thought the Mother mouse. Then, she turned and said to her babies, "Children, watch closely." The mother mouse stood on her back legs, threw her head back, and went, "RUFF! RUFF!...." and followed that with her best canine growl.

The cat immediately ran helter-skelter out the door. Mother mouse then turned to her children and said, "You see, my dears, there are advantages to learning a second language.

One more…

According to a new study by the University of Washington, 90 percent of children under the age of 2 are couch potatoes.

You know what you call these kids?

Tater tots.

Jay Leno

TODAY’S WORD

penelope (puh-NEL-uh-pee) noun

A faithful wife.

From Penelope, the wife of Odysseus and mother of Telemachus in Greek mythology. She waited 20 years for her husband's return from the Trojan War (ten years of war, and ten years on his way home). She kept her many suitors at bay by telling them she would marry them when she had finished weaving her web, a shroud for her father-in-law. She wove the web during the day only to unravel it during the night.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more. Psalm 71:14

This psalmist was surely a positive thinker! He was able to hope because of his faith that God would protect and care for him. So instead of wasting time being afraid, he praised God. What a good example for us to follow.

When you face changes in your life, you don't have to face them with fear and anxiety. When you have hope, you begin to think clearly. When you praise God, you are expressing your faith in him and he will guide you through any change in your life. The change may not be what you had intended, but you will have the strength and courage to go forward with your life, seeing the opportunities for good that come with the change
