ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

NOVEMBER 27TH, 2006

TODAY'S THOUGHT

To me it seems that to give happiness is a far nobler goal than to attain it, and that what we exist for is much more a matter of relations to others...much more a matter of helping others to heaven than of getting there ourselves.

Lewis Carroll

TODAY’S ACTION

Be compassionate, be caring and loving.

TODAY’S QUOTE

Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time.

Laura Ingalls Wilder

HAPPY MONDAY BACK TO WORK !

I’m back to normal (whatever that is) today, all the festivities are over and I’ve got another whole month to get ready for the next one.

Tomorrow night is our monthly dulcimer night…only two more times to play our Christmas music left for this year. Time sure flies by when you’re having fun !

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY IS…PIE IN THE FACE DAY !

TODAY’S SMILE

If you own just one Bible you are abundantly blessed; one-third of all the world does not have access to even one.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death...you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep...you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace...you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If your parents are still alive and still married...you are very rare, even in the United States.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful...you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder...you are blessed because you can offer God's healing touch.

If you prayed yesterday and today...you are in the minority because you believe God does hear and answer prayers.

If you believe in Jesus as the son of God...you are part of a small minority in the world.

If you can read this message...you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

Thank you Lord for the blessings we have.

ux·o·ri·ous adective

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Since the Lord is directing our steps, why try to understand everything that happens along the way?

Proverbs 20:2

We can propose what we think is a logical plan and God can dispose of it very quickly. The story of Joseph illustrates this well. At the request of his father Jacob, Joseph proposed to spend a few days finding his brothers to see if all was well with them; instead, when he finally found them, they disposed of him by selling him for twenty shekels.

What a comfort it is to know that God is directing our steps and that it isn't necessary to our salvation or happiness, even, to understand the circumstances in our lives. What is necessary is faith.!

TODAY’S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER’S ALMANAC

24 DAYS UNTIL WINTER !
