ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

NOVEMBER 13TH, 2006

TODAY'S THOUGHT Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside of them was superior to circumstance.

Bruce Barton

TODAY’S ACTION

Every day, try to be a little wiser than you were the day before.

TODAY’S QUOTE

We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.

Cynthia Ozick

 HAPPY MONDAY

I’m off to work again this morning. Where oh where did the weekend go??? I’ve got to say I got very little done on the ‘to do’ list this past weekend and if things continue on this way DS#4 and his family may be making up their own beds when they get here next Saturday. It seems time just keep on flying by and doesn’t wait a minute for me to get some things done. I must be getting slower and slower.

As far as getting the house ready for Thanksgiving, I don’t think that will be a lot trouble, because we’ll probably have wall to wall people so no one will notice a bit if there is a little dust here and there…and if they do, well that’s their problem.

I’m trying not to get stressed out by the holidays, they’ll come and go as always. I never have enough time or money, but hey, I’ve got a lot of love to give ! That must count for something.

Please say a few prayers with me this week, DDIL#5’s dad is undergoing some tests and I’ll be praying for a good outcome for him, and DS#2 and his family really need some prayers for guidance right now. I’m always praying for all of you! Please know that this little e-mail every day is sent with love and affection to all my friends and family !

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY’S SMILE

Grandparents:

(I got this from another Grand’ma’ friend of mine and thought I’d share it with you all today !)

Give them my loose change, and they give me a million dollars' worth of pleasure. ~Gene Perret

My grandkids believe I'm the oldest thing in the world. And after two or >three hours with them, I believe it, too.

An hour with your grandchildren can make you feel young again. Anything longer than that, and you start to age quickly. ~Welsh Proverb

Perfect love sometimes does not come until the first grand-child. ~Gore Vidal

When grandparents enter the door, discipline flies out the window. ~Marcy DeMaree

Grandma always made you feel she had been waiting to see just you all day and now the day was complete. ~Lois Wyse

If I had known how wonderful it would be to have grand-children, I'd have had them first. ~Henry Youngman

My grandmother is over eighty and still doesn't need glasses. Drinks right out of the bottle. ~Mary H. Waldrip

Grandchildren are God's way of compensating us for growing old. ~Proverb

You do not really understand something unless you can explain it to your grandmother. ~Dave Barry

The best babysitters, of course, are the baby's grandparents. You feel completely comfortable entrusting your baby to them for long periods, which is why most grandparents flee to Florida. ~Alex Haley

Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children. ~Joy Hargrove

One of the most powerful handclasps is that of a new grand-baby around the finger of a grandfather. ~G. Norman Collie

Grandchildren don't make a man feel old; it's the knowledge that he's married to a grandmother. ~Authors Unknown

Grandmother-grandchild relationships are simple.

Grandmas are short on criticism and long on love.

Grandmas are moms with lots of frosting.

Grandparents are similar to a piece of string - handy to have around and easily wrapped around the fingers of their grandchildren.

Grandmothers are just antique little girls.

It's amazing how grandparents seem so young once you become one.

A grandparent is old on the outside but young on the inside.

Grandmas never run out of hugs or cookies.

Grandmas hold our tiny hands for just a little while, but our hearts forever.

 TODAY’S REFLECTION

... Seek peace and pursue it.

Psalm 34:14

For thousands of years, people have prayed that we seek peace and pursue it. Yet there are those who seek power through force, and peace eludes the world.

Let us join in prayer for those who have sacrificed so much and who continue to do so in service to our free nation. Let us also turn to our powerful God and ask him to guide the leaders of the nations to work together for lasting world peace.
