HAPPY WEDNESDAY

OVER THE HUMP DAY

And maybe, just maybe we are over the hump of this cold snap we’ve been having. Heat wave of 17 degrees today sounds pretty good to me ! More snow came our way in the form of an Alberta Clipper Tuesday evening adding another inch or so. It’s certainly not going to melt anytime soon. Brrrrchill!

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY IS…CHARLES DICKENS DAY

Charles Dickens is probably England's most popular author. He was born in Portsmouth, England on February 7, 1812, but spent most of his childhood in London where he based many of his novels. He started writing short stories at the age of 24 and continued to write until his death in 1890. His books related the bad conditions of the working classes and poor people in hopes of bringing about social change.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him

1 John 4:16

These words from the First Letter of John express with remarkable clarity the heart of the Christian faith: the Christian image of God and the resulting image of mankind and its destiny. In the same verse, St. John also offers a kind of summary of the Christian life: “We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us.”

Pope Benedict XVI, God Is Love.

TODAY’S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER’S ALMANAC

February's birthstone, the amethyst, is said to strengthen relationships and give its wearer courage. At one time, only royalty could wear the gem. Ancient Greeks thought that the amethyst guarded against intoxication. In fact, amethyst comes from amethystos, a Greek word meaning "sober."
