ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

FEBRUARY 15TH,2007

TODAY'S THOUGHT

What greater thing is there for two human souls that to feel that they are joined... to strengthen each other...to be at one with each other in silent unspeakable memories.

George Eliot

TODAY’S ACTION

Make the most out of today.

TODAY’S QUOTE

When all else fails, try love.

HAPPY THURSDAY

Back to work today !

When daylight came yesterday and I could see outside I found there were drifts of at least 3 feet of snow in the backyard and driveway.

My nextdoor neighbor sister and I decided to wait until about eleven o’clock before going out to start clearing it all. By 2:30 it was mostly done. Mostly because the wind kept blowing and lots of drifting over what we had done..We needed to get out to school and work today so we persevered.

There are pictures posted on my journal page GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE if you want to see how much snow we have.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY IS…BURGER LOVERS DAY

White Castle opened their first hamburger stand in 1921 in Wichita, Kansas, and... the rest is history. Hamburgers are now the favorite snack in the U.S. If you're ready to make your own burgers instead of stopping at McDonald's, just try this recipe

1 1/2 pounds of hamburger

1 head of lettuce

1 sliced medium onion

Worcestershire sauce

Tabasco sauce

1 pkg of onion soup mix

4 cheddar cheese slices

1 large tomato

4 Kaiser style buns

Cooking spray

Blend half of the dry onion soup mix into the hamburger meat. Add Worcestershire and Tabasco sauce to taste, but don't skimp! Make 4 large patties from the meat mixture. Spray a broiling pan with cooking spray and broil - or fry in a skillet. A few minutes before the meat is done, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each pattie to melt. Put a pattie on a Kaiser bun and garnish with the lettuce, onion and tomato.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. -1 John 4:11

Love comes in many varieties. Two kinds of love are described in the verse in 1 John -- God's love toward us and our love toward others.

We were loved by God long before we ever knew that God existed. God loved us enough to create us. After sin entered into the world, God loved us enough to redeem us by allowing Jesus to die on the cross in our place. This is perfect love.

Because of God's great love toward us, we are commanded to love each other. Sometimes this isn't easy. Sometimes life's battles and disappointments leave scars and turn people bitter, cold, and not easily lovable. But this doesn't change God's command to love them. By trying to see them as God sees them, we allow God to love them through us.
