Saint Augustine

TODAY’S QUOTE

There's one good thing about snow, it makes your lawn look as nice as your neighbor's.

Clyde Moore

HAPPY SUNDAY

Off to church in a little while then will be home again to catch up and get ready for a new work week. Thankfully I have this R & R day to re-coop. It’s so cold I hate to even venture outside, but I will and then be glad to be home again.

I think it’s time to put the 3rd layer of clothing on for sure ! Pretty soon I’ll be so bundled up that I won’t be able to move !

Take good care all and keep warm !

Have a great day ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY IS…SPOILED CATS DAY

Yes, the most popular pets world wide are dogs! But, don't tell the cats!. People who own these little balls of fur know how independent and royal they really are. Of course, they were the favorite pets of the pharaohs. I think they remember this!

 HEALTH TIP FOR TODAY

Apple Juice Lowers Fat: By drinking apple juice with your fast food meals, you may stop the damage from eating those high fat foods. Researchers from the University of California found recently that apple juice can help reduce your LDL (bad) cholesterol up to 34 percent. So, opt for apple juice in place of a cola or other non-nutritional drink. You can easily carry the little single serving cans or boxes with you. And always be sure you're drinking only 100 percent juice.

TODAY’S SMILE

GENTLE THOUGHTS

1. When I'm feeling down, I like to whistle. It makes the neighbor's dog go crazy wondering "whassup."

2. There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it. For example I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

3. Birds of a feather flock together and then mess right on your car.

4. If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

5. A penny saved is a government oversight.

6. The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right time, but also to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

7. The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight, because by then your body and your fat are really good friends.

8. The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.

9. He who hesitates is probably right.

10. If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

11. The sole purpose of a child's middle name is so he can tell when he's really, really in trouble.

12. Did you ever notice: When you put the 2 words "The" and "IRS" together it spells "THEIRS"?

13. Did you ever notice: The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are "XL"?

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

Psalm 90:14

This Psalm is attributed to Moses. He led the Israelites through the desert for many years before they finally reached the Promised Land. But never in all their tribulations did Moses lose faith. It takes courage and discipline to maintain our equilibrium in the midst of suffering.

We are tempted to give in to despair and depression. When you look on the bright side and expect the best from God, you will weather your suffering in a much better way. Be patient, for the time will come when you can truly rejoice.
