HAPPY SUNDAY

My plans are church this morning then to get a little shopping done. After that I’m home for the day to get some much needed things done around here.

It’s supposed to rain ice here , maybe a quarter inch of ice then rain changing to snow. I just may not make it to church or shopping. We’ll see….

Hopefully the roads won’t get bad.

The long range forecast looks like winter will remain for yet another week.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY IS…GO BOWLING DAY

The Egyptians were rolling a ball to knock down targets more than 7,000 years old, but modern day bowling is a very American sport. The Dutch in New Amsterdam (New York) were bowling at ninepins in 1650. Their alley was a long plank only about a foot wide, so... lots of gutter balls.

TODAY’S SMILE

Three Camels

Noah was standing at the gangplank checking off the pairs of animals when he saw three camels trying to get on board. "Wait a minute!" he said. "Two each is the limit. One of you will have to stay behind."

"It won't be me," said the first camel. "I'm the camel whose back is broken by the last straw."

"I'm the one people swallow while straining at a gnat," said the second.

"And I am the one that shall pass through the eye of a needle sooner than a rich man shall enter heaven." said the third.

"Well, I guess you had better all come in," said Noah,

"the world is going to need all of you."

TODAY’S WORD

mendacious (adjective) [men-DAY-shahs]

1. given to lying or deception; untruthful; 'a mendacious person': "Your bright but mendacious child has shown a pattern of missed classes and assignments, always accompanied with tales of supernatural obstacles beyond his control."

2. deliberately false or untrue; 'a mendacious statement' adverb form: mendaciously

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.

Luke 12:15

The pursuit of possessions continues to be one of the most powerful motivations that people can experience. But can the accumulation of things bring true satisfaction? Life must always be more than just the inventory of the things we own. Only God is able to bring real satisfaction to our lives.
