HAPPY SATURDAY

Today is our Prince Charming’s Birthday Party ! My Little Prince will be 3 this year and he’s having a party today but I am unable to attend and will miss being a part of the celebration. I’m off to spend the day with my Dad, he is unable to alone yet, but is doing well.

My youngest sister continues to look after him and this is one day I’m able to help out so she can get her things done. I always try to pick up something for dessert as Dad has a sweet tooth and loves things from Troyer’s Bakery, but tonight we’ll have a special treat. This time of year one of the Polish bakeries near here always make Paczki (punch-key). They are only made before Lent each year and they are simply delicious Polish donuts. It’s very hard to eat just one. I’m not Polish, but I love Paczki. .

Here is a link that will tell you about them http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paczki

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way!

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY IS…MELBA TOAST DAY

Auguste Escoffier was a chef at The Savoy Hotel in London during the 1890s. The Australian opera singer, Nellie Melba, was staying at the hotel and watching her weight. Noticing that she always ordered toast, he grilled a piece of toast, split it in half, grilled it again and named it "Melba Toast". Dieters have been eating it ever since.

TODAY’S SMILE

He's Up To Something

A little boy was spending his Saturday morning playing in his sandbox. He had with him his box of cars and trucks, his plastic pail, and a shiny, red plastic shovel. In the process of creating roads and tunnels in the soft sand, he discovered a large rock in the middle of the sandbox.

The boy dug around the rock, managing to dislodge it from the dirt. With no little bit of struggle, he pushed and nudged the rock across the sandbox by using his feet. (He was a very small boy and the rock was very huge.)

When the boy got the rock to the edge of the sandbox, however, he found that he couldn't roll it up and over the little wall. Determined, the little boy shoved, pushed, and pried, but every time he thought he had made some progress, the rock tipped and then fell back into the sandbox. The little boy grunted, struggled, pushed, & shoved; but his only reward was to have the rock roll back, smashing his chubby fingers.

Finally he burst into tears of frustration. All this time the boy's father watched from his living room window as the drama unfolded. At the moment the tears fell, a large shadow fell across the boy and the sandbox. It was the boy's father.

Gently but firmly he said, "Son, why didn't you use all the strength that you had available? Defeated, the boy sobbed back, "But I did, Daddy, I did! I used all the strength that I had!"

"No, son," said the father kindly. "You didn't use all the strength you had. You didn't ask me."

With that the father reached down, picked up the rock, and removed it from the sandbox.

Do you have "rocks" in your life that need to be removed? Are you discovering that you don't have what it takes to lift them? There is One who is always available to us and willing to give us the strength we need. Isn't it funny how we try so hard to do things ourselves. Sadly, many adults who have been Christians for years are trying to do everything themselves and only turning to God as a last resort.

God wants to be your first resort. Let Him help you with your trials, tribulations and temperament. He loves you so much . . . all He wants you to do is ask Him to help.

When you are DOWN to nothing....

God is UP to something!!!

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Freely you have received, freely give. Matthew 10:8b

Is there a way for you to freely give of the love that God gives to you? When you share that love, you’ll find that it will be returned to you multiplied. And your joy will be unlimited
