The rain from down south is supposed to move up our way today ! It will be nice if it gets all the rain done now and the weekend is sunny !
This coming weekend is our Family Camp # 3 for the year. I'll be going to visit with the campers on Sunday. It will be my first 'real ' trip to the beach this year as they're camping up by the lake. Of course, I'm taking the 'deviled' eggs!
It looks like a quiet week here, hopefully I'll be getting alot done around here so that I don't have to labor on Labor Day !
Please keep all those affected by 'Katrina' in your prayers as they begin the 'great clean up' . I haven't heard yet how Son#2 made out...on the news , they are advising people to stay put and not go back home yet.
Have a great day all! Another wonderful one on the Way !
Richard James was a naval engineer. He originally developed the Slinky as an anti-vibration device for ship instruments in the early 1940s. But, when the Slinky didn't work for the Navy, his wife decided it should be turned into a toy. They picked out the name and decided to demonstrate it at GimbelsDepartment Store in Philadelphia in 1946. An hour and a half after the first demonstration, they had sold 400 Slinkys - and it went on to become one of the most successful toys of all time

TODAY'S SMILE
Suck In Your Stomach!
I noticed my husband standing on the bathroom scale, sucking in his
stomach.
Thinking he was trying to weigh less with this maneuver, I commented, "I
don't think that is going to help, honey."
"Sure it does," he said It's the only way I can see the numbers

and I will honor him with thanksgiving.
For this will please the Lord more than sacrificing an ox
or presenting a bull with its horns and hooves.
Psalm 69:30-31
You gave the Lord two hundred dollars this morning,” said a servant of God to an aged brother who had never had much of this world’s goods. “What do you mean?” asked the aged Christian. “I don’t have it to give.” “I heard you singing,” replied the preacher, “I counted five hymns of praise to the Lord. The psalmist said that a song of praise would please the Lord more than an ox. A cow would be worth at least forty dollars. So you have given the Lord two hundred dollars author unknown
