HAPPY 'FINALLY' FRIDAY

Last day of the work week for most of us...and most of us are very thankful.    Florida is having hurricanes and Japan is having typhons...here we have chances of thunderstorms all weekend.  The grass is growing in the front yard, but hasn't recovered in the back yet.   My lawnmower needs a 'tune up' and I got one of those kits with a spark plug, oil and filter...so I suppose I'll try and do that this weekend.  Sounds simple, but I've never done it before.

Please pray for all those in peril from the storms and don't forget to pray for our troops!

Have a great day !  Another wonderful one on the Way !

  TODAY IS...HORSESHOE DAY

Horseshoes were invented by the Greeks and discovered by Western culture in the 4th century. Beyond their intended use, they became a universal symbol for good luck - a superstition that lasted well into the 1800s. The most popular practice was nailing a horseshoe over the front door of a house - pointed upward so the luck wouldn't fall out. Even Lord Nelson nailed a horseshoe on the mast of his command ship before the Battle of Trafalgar

  TODAY'S SMILE

The wife said, "You should do it, because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee."

The husband said, "You're in charge of the cooking around here and you should do it, because that's your job. I can just wait for my coffee."

The wife replied, "No you should do it, and besides it's in the Bible that the man should do the coffee."

The husband replied, " I can't believe that, show me."

So she grabbed her Bible, and opened to the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed said:

  TODAY'S REFLECTION

That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us, and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

 I John 1:3-4

Aren't you eager to share happy news with your family or friends? That is the way John felt about his time with Jesus. He wanted others to know the same joy. When we spread the Good News with others, we share our joy with them and become closer
