 TODAY IS...EAT A PEACH DAY

Fresh peaches are full of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, vitamin C, riboflavin, and beta carotene. They are also low in calories, fat-free, sodium-free, and cholesterol-free. And what's summer without eating fresh peaches (with the juice running down your chin). Everyone has a favorite fruit, but this one is very popular

TODAY'S SMILE

 The Picture Diet!

One time when I was home visiting my folks, my mom asked me to set the
table for dinner. I opened the refrigerator and taped to the inside of the
door was a picture of a lovely, slender, perfectly built young woman in a
bikini.

"Mom, what's this?" I asked.

"Oh, I put that up there to remind me not to over-eat," she answered.

"Is it working?" I asked.

"Yes and no," she explained.
I've lost 15 pounds, but your dad has gained 20

and here''s one for the golfers....

These two guys were approaching the first tee. The first guy goes into his golf bag to get a ball and says to his friend, 'Hey, why don't you try this ball?' He draws a green golf ball out of his bag. 'You can't lose it.'

His friend replies, 'What do you mean you can't lose it?!' The first man replies, 'I'm serious, you can't lose it. If you hit it into the woods, it makes a beeping sound, if you hit it into the water it produces bubbles, and if you hit it onto the fairway, smoke comes up in order for you to find it.'

Obviously, his friend doesn't believe him, but he shows him all the possibilities until he is convinced. The friend says, 'Wow! That's incredible! Where did you get that ball?!'

The man replies, I found it

TODAY'S REFLECTION

This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man. For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
  Genesis 2:23-24

  Suleyman Guresci, of Izmir, Turkey,
divorced his wife of 21 years after a bitter six-year court
battle. In an effort to find the ideal woman, Guresci turned to a computer dating service -- the kind that evaluates your written profile and suggests matches for you. From a list of  2,000 prospective brides, the computer selected his former wife, who (unbeknownst to Guresci) had signed up for the same service. Guresci's response? He decided to remarry his wife just nine months after their divorce.
He said, "I did not know that my ex-wife had been the ideal counterpart for a marriage. I decided to give it another try by being more tolerant toward her.

Raymond McHenry, "Stories for the Soul," p.176

 Marriage takes
work, effort, purpose, and time, but it can succeed beautifully ...especially when we realize that God has given us "the ideal counterpart" and we have  decided to give it another try by being more
tolerant.

Good lives and good families don’t just happen. They are the product of hard work, deep prayer, and confident trust in the Lord. Are you keeping in step with God as he leads you into your future? What about your children or grandchildren? Are you putting time into forming them and winning their trust? Are you and your spouse creatively working together to deepen your love for each other,,, Don’t be afraid to make plans and be shrewd. The goal is well worth the effort.
