TODAY'S QUOTE
Anxiety never successfully bridged any chasm. Ruffini
A day for catching up and resting a little ! After the past two weekends, there is a lot to be done. There is supposed to be a nasty weather front come through, bringing some storms, but then it's supposed to cool down. DD and hubby went camping , hope those storms don't go their way ! The painter did get done Friday evening ! Now we have the big clean up in the back yard to do. Nothing has been done there since the 1st of July ! The grass stopped growing when the heat wave hit us and the weeds have taken over the flower beds. Now we will try and get it looking decent again. So strange to be able to walk out the back door and not see ladders and buckets!!!
Hope you all have a great day ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY IS...THOMAS EDISON DAY!
Thomas Alva Edison was the world's greatest inventor. Born in 1847, in Milan, Ohio, he patented 1,093 inventions. The most famous was the light bulb, but he also developed the first phonograph and kinetoscope (for viewing moving film). In tribute to his genius, electric lights in the U.S. were dimmed for one minute on October 21, 1931, a few days after his death.

A police car pulled me over near the high school where I teach. As the officer asked for my license and registration, my students began to drive past. Some honked their horns, others hooted, and still others stopped to admonish me for speeding.
Finally the officer asked me if I was a teacher at the school, and I told him I was.
I think you've paid your debt to society, he said with a smile, and left without giving me a ticket
ONE MORE...
The teacher said, "Now class, we know there are 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day, and 365 days in a year, so who can tell me how many seconds are there in a year?"
All the kids looked baffled by the question except Rufus, who raises his hand and waves it excitedly.
"Yes, Rufus, how many seconds are there in a year?" the teacher asked.
Replied Rufus, Twelve, m'am. January second, February second, March second..

Know where you are headed and you will stay on solid ground. Proverbs 4:26
The writer of Proverbs stresses that you must "know where you are headed." If you don't know your destination, you'll go nowhere.
The writer of Proverbs also wrote, If you know what you're doing, you'll prosper. God blesses everyone who trusts him (Proverbs 16:20). In these two scripture verses we see three important things:
1. Know where you're going.
2. Know what you're doing.
3. Trust God.
