 Maurice Sendak

listen to His love...the overpowering, totally

 HAPPY THANKFULLY THURSDAY

After today I'm off for my second of two long weekends ...2 more days until the WEDDING! I feeling like I must be getting old.  The 'baby' is getting married.  DDH would have been soproud of all his children.  They are all doing so well and work hard for what they have.  They all all loving and kind to their spouses and their children. The Good Lord certainly had been very good to us !

Have a great day all !  Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.   Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands. Protect them as they
protect us. Bless them and their families
for the selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior

 GOD BLESS YOU !

  TODAY IS..CHERRY POPSCICLE DAY

There's nothing like a popscicle on a hot summer day. Flavored "ices" were being made almost as soon as people had ice. They chipped off small pieces, added syrup and served it in a bowl with a spoon. The next step was adding the sticks, and... the rest is history.

TODAY'S SMILE

After passing the bar exam, a man opened his own law office. He was sitting at his desk when his secretary announced that a Mr. Jones had arrived to see him.

"Show him right in!" the lawyer replied.

As Mr. Jones was being ushered in, the lawyer wanted to look busy. He quickly picked up the phone and shouts into it " ...and you tell them that we won't accept less then fifty thousand dollars, and don't even call me until you agree to that amount!"

Slamming down the phone, he stood up and said, "Good Morning, Mr. Jones, what can I do for you?"

"I'm from the phone company," Mr. Jones replied, I'm here to connect your phone

 ONE MORE...

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It got so cold it froze up and fell to the ground in a large field. While it was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some manure on it. As it lay there in the pile of manure, it began to realize how warm it was. The manure was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the little bird singing, and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of manure, and promptly dug him out--and then ate him.

The morals of the story are:

  1. Not everyone who drops manure on you is your enemy.
  2. Not everyone who digs you out of a pile of manure is your friend.
  3. When you're in the manure, keep your mouth shut

TODAY'S REFLECTION

Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

Isaiah 46:4

Growing old is perhaps the hardest task we have to face in this life. As the saying goes, "Getting old is not for sissies."

Mainly, growing old is about losses. We devote most of our early life to acquiring things, but they are merely things we will lose as we age. We lose our strength, our looks, our friends, our job. We may lose our wealth, our home, our health, our spouse, our independence, and perhaps the greatest loss of all, our sense of dignity and self-worth.

But there is one thing that you and I will never lose—the love of God
