HAPPY ' SUDDENLY ' SUNDAY

I'm off to church early this morning as they have adedication for our new parish center today with the Bishop at Noon and no 11:00 mass time. 9:30 isn't too early, and I know my dulcimer buddy will be there ... she always goes early!   It's supposed to start cooling down a little so hopefully this afternoon will be good for working in the yard.  We didn't get to enjoy outside much at all this summer...now we can make up for it!

Have a great day all !  Another wonderful one on the Way !

 TODAY IS...DISTILLED WATER DAY !

Distilled water is the purest water available. It's just water - plain old H2O. Everything else is removed when it's converted from liquid to steam during the distillation process. It has no taste, so using it can bring out the flavor of your coffee, tea or food. And it won't leave mineral deposits to clog up your coffee pot. The only problem is... since we are used to drinking water out of the tap, it doesn't taste like water

TODAY'S SMILE

After being interviewed by the school administration, the eager teaching prospect said:

"Let me see if I've got this right.

"You want me to go into that room with all those kids and fill their every waking moment with a love forlearning.  And I'm supposed to instill a sense of pride in their ethnicity, modify their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse and even censor their T-shirt messages and dress habits.

"You want me to wage a war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, check their backpacks for weapons of mass destruction, and raise their self-esteem.

"You want me to teach them patriotism, good citizenship, sportsmanship, and fair play, how and where to register to vote, how to balance a checkbook, and how to apply for a job.

"I am to check their heads for lice, maintain a safe environment, recognize signs of antisocial behavior, offer advice, write letters of recommendation for student employment and scholarships, encourage respect for their elders and future employers.

"And I am to communicate regularly with the parents by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card.

"All of this I am to do with just a piece of chalk, a computer, a  few books, a bulletin board, and a big smile AND on a starting salary that qualifies my family for food  stamps!

You want me to do all of this,
and you expect me NOT TO PRAY

one more...

A young boy had just gotten his driving permit. He asked his father, who was a minister, if they could discuss the use  of the car. His father took him tohis study and said to him,  "I'll make a deal with you. You bring your grades up, study  your Bible a little and get your hair cut and we'll talk  about it." After about a month the boy came back and again
asked his father if they could discuss use of the car. They again went to the father's study where his father said, "Son, I've been real proud of you. You have brought your grades up, you've studied your Bible diligently, but you didn't get your hair cut!"

The young man waited a moment and replied, "You know Dad, I've been thinking about that. You know, Samson had long hair, Moses had long hair, Noah had long hair, and even Jesus had long hair...." To which his father replied,

Yes, and they walked every where they went

 TODAY'S REFLECTION

For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me   Job 3:25

If you constantly expect the worst to happen, you're eliminating the hope for good things.  On the contrary, if you hold the faith thought, the positive thought, you will create about yourself an atmosphere favorable to success, health and well-being.    If you stay busy during the day, you'll have no time to worry. Then by night you'll be too sleepy to worry. Pray more and worry less.
